Old Man's Valley update for 26 Feb
Dry and no longer tacky though that may change this arvo if the weather forecast holds. Work proceeding on the extensions and good to see a group of school kids there - how good would it have been to have mtb as a school sport!!

Bit more training 'stuff'
Hi all - just a quick note to say that I've written #2 of the training blog thingo.....
Hope you find it useful, or at least interesting!

What it takes #2 (February)
Welcome back! If you are reading this – then I think it means you liked the last one, or you just want to pick further holes in what I am saying!
I hope all of you have had a good time in Feb and have completed some solid training based on some of the guidelines I shared?
Some seated, big gear, hill reps? Perhaps some steady state threshold intervals? Maybe even some longer rides at a little bit harder than you might normally have gone? Just slightly above “constant chatter” levels of discomfort?

Cascades - Social
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
Slowly getting back into MTB.
Social pace, more about just exploring the area and hanging out with other riders.
The side bonus is a bit of a workout to help increase the fitness.

Brown Snake
Had an unfortunate encounter with this fellow today on the main trail at Red Hill.
Was walking the dog and unfortunately I think he was bitten.
At the Vet's currently and hopefully seems to be ok.
After $1000+ of anti-venom it would seem that his days as a trail dog are over!
Be aware. They're out there.
Cheers

Motos at Awaba
I rode Awaba for the first time at the weekend - was great - but encountered some motos at a trail intersection just after that short sharp (black mountain?) climb.
Didn't see them riding the MTB trails but just wondered if the area is open to motos or not? Wasn't sure if there were moto specific trails around there so didn't say anything to them at the time.

For Sale: 26" Scott Scale Carbon Frame, XT Wheelset and New Fizik Tundra saddle
After years of flying the 26er flag, I've finally relented and jumped on the 29er bandwagon. (Figure there's some room now that people are moving to 650B's!)
As a result, have a few things to clear out to make some room in the garage:
* 26" Scott Scale Carbon frame (Large, 2009 model): $250
