Great Northern Road update for 18 Apr

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

There's only one puddle on the tech section you need to ride through which isn't deep on the edge. There are big trees down just after Claires Bridge

Manly Dam update for 18 Apr

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Trail was very passable, although a bit muddy in places. Real problem is the bad erosion and rutting in parts, particularly on the north side where it shares with walkers. A couple of times I had to push up slopes as the trail was so degraded it wasn't safe to ride.

Advise you only try this trail if you are a competent rider with a decent bike - knobbly tyres and preferably full suspension as there are lots of dropoffs and rough, sweeping runs.

Narrow Neck update for 18 Apr

Area:
Narrow Neck
Status:
Green/Open

Trail itself is fine if you are on a decent bike. Just be careful if you're on a cyclo-cross or similar as some of the steep descents are covered in large loose rocks and slippy gravel, so traction is crucial. At one point I just had to hang on and pray as I slid at speed down! Some nice fat know knobblies would be your friend here.

Note also that the road in to the car park is in terrible condition with huge potholes and a nasty drop-off from the tarmac end. If you're not in a 4x4, take extreme care.

Duck Hole/Terrey Hills Trail update for 15 Apr

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Quite a bit of water still on the track – especially along the flat section at the top. Even so, discernible riding lines are available without needing to get to amphibious.

Terrey Hills update for 15 Apr

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Rode on Friday the 14th – still some very significant puddles and mud patches all the way along perimeter , though definitely improving. Could still do with quite a good windy dry spell, but rideable if you're prepared for a good cleanup

Cascades update for 15 Apr

Area:
Cascades
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Should have ridden the road bike today! Trail was very sloppy.... don't think I've seen it this wet in a long time! Needs a long break from rain before it's worth riding again.
