Fork Maintenance

Hi, what happens if you never maintain your front fork?

I have a 2006 Fox and all I have ever done is clean the metal surfaces of the upper stems after every (well, most) rides. To me it works still great. Should I be expecting any trouble out of this?

Cheers,
Volker

Camden River update for 16 Feb

Camden River

Green/Open

Surprisingly dry with just a few slippery sections particularly at the creek crossings. Overall the track is in good to very good condition and most of the recently downed trees have been cleared.

Terrey Hills update for 15 Feb

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Did Long via the Euchuga Rd school tonight. There are some issues but overall a great night out. There looks like some fire trucks have gone up there and created some really big bog holes on Perimeter and the swimming pool size puddle on Long is there along with a tree over the track but besides that it was fine. The trail was generally dry and not boggy rolling really well - almost did a PB. ...great to be back out there - lets hope the rain stays away

Appin update for 15 Feb

Area:
Appin
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

At best today the track is amber. It is amber for those riders who know enough not to ride around puddles and widen the trail. There are some rutts starting to form. People are riding around wet rocks and tree roots. For those people it is red! This is an indication to me it is too wet and definitely not green.

Want to Trade: 25.4mm Flat bar

Hi all,

If you look in my profile you can see I have a commuter called Betty which was saved from a council clean up. I have got her back on the road using only second hand/discarded parts I have been able to find.

Betty and I are looking for a flat handlebar with 25.4mm clamp diamater, we even have a GC 2inch riser that we can swap. So just asking if anyone has an old bike in the back of the shed that is no longer being used and doesn't mind swapping or losing it's handlebar, please drop me a line.

cheers Sam & Betty
