Hi guys, I just wanted to bring this event to your attention, and would be stoked if you could all spread the word for a good cause!

James Williamson Enduro Challenge – 13 March 2011

Wingello State Forest, Southern Highlands NSW

The inaugural James Williamson Enduro Challenge is to be held in memory of James Williamson, the 2008 World and 2006 Australian MTB 24 Hour champion. James passed away on 23 March 2010 while he was participating in the Cape Epic Mountain Bike Race in South Africa.

The RTA are using the main parking area at the bottom of Victoria Pass as a stockpile site, probably for the duration of the roadworks through Hartley. Approx 30yrs. There is a small parking area 300m back towards Lithgow, and another small car park at the bottom of Berghoffers but you might get parked in by a broken down truck.

As some may know, the National Parks and Wildlife Service has released a discussion paper on mountain biking opportunities in the state's national parks and reserves. They have invited comment on the proposals in the paper and help shape our Cycling Policy and Mountain Biking Strategy. This paper can be downloaded here:

Although no official communication has been made, we have it on good authority that this date/time/place is set for the Springwood public forum on this topic.
