Rode the Linden Ridge single track today, 7km each direction of totally overgrown trail. Arms and legs are raw from the branches/tree's. Didn't ride right out Linden Ridge itself was running short of time.

Will have to organise a trail maintenance day.

Riding out west - Kinross and Geurie

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Anybody riden either Kinross at Orange or Geurie as I will be maybe getting 3 hrs riding time out there this weekend. I have the maps, but as there is quite a bit at Kinross has anyone rode there and have some suggestions on some of the choice bits and sections.

Also is the trail at Geurie worth a visit or should I just spend more time at Orange?

Mount York update for 22 May

Mount York

Lockyer's is in decent shape. Thanks to the Chainsaw Fairy who cut that fallen tree that was blocking the track. There's a new(-ish) log roll-over on the very last downhill that is quite high, but has been built-up on both sides so your chain ring has clearance.

It was teeming out there today - we ran into 3 other riders! Even came across a lower-mountains film crew, talking it up and posing riders on the chute with the camera on an angle to make it look even steeper... Smiling

Oh yeah, Berghoffer's is in good nick, too.

All good with the tracks.

The local schools recently ran their cross country running race around Knapsack and kindly painted large yellow arrows or crosses on trees and rocks to indicate the course direction. We now know who has done this for the last three plus years.

Annoying creak

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

G'Day guys.

As most people probably experience I've got an annoying creak from the back of my bike somewhere. I'm hoping it just the bottom bracket threads needing a bit of grease but I can reproduce a similar creak by holding the seat and pushing the back wheel side to side. I've greased the seat post and rails and sprayed silicon lube on all the pivots and checked the tension on all but the one behing the chain rings.
The creak is much worse under load going up steep hills which made me think BB.
