Hi guys

Im instrested in going a hardtail 29er. Ive looked at reviews for these two bikes (Specialized Stumpjumper carbon comp 29er vs Giant XtC composite 0 29er) and im just inquisitive about what people say which is the better bike (strengths, weaknesses)

Any suggestions would be greatful

New general purpose tyres for the hills.

Hi All
I am looking at putting together a reasonably tough pair of 26" wheels for general trail riding & training in the local hills here in Perth.
I will be using them on a long travel fork HT & a 5" travel duallie. I would like to be able to ride drops & rock gardens without worrying unduly about punctures & splits

For teaching kids how to ride.

Have a look at the video, a guy pushes a bike with no-one on it and it stays upright.

Winter riding top? Ground Effect Popsicle?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

The missus is saying that she needs a long sleeve top that takes the bite out of the cold air for early morning rides. She already has arm warmers, booties, leg warmers and rain jacket but she wants a warmer long sleeve riding top.

Please note this is Perth, not Tasmania.

Anyone had any experience or recommendations with this sort of top? Ground Effect have an interesting top that she is eyeing off.

Busted Crank Brothers Colbolt rim - I assume this is terminal??

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Folks,

please see attached a pic of where the spoke holder on my rear Crank Brothers Colbolt rim has broken -

I assume this is terminal and now means either a new rim + rebuild or a complete wheel!!!

Im open to ideas.

Shipping a bike from Perth to the eastern states

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hey guys, someone from over east is interested in buying a bike I've got advertised in the classifieds, but neither of us have experience of shipping a bike across the country.

Anyone done it? Any suggestions of companies to approach, and what the approximate cost would be?

Thanks.

do you think these will be sufficient for some night riding, they're 150lumens

i paid 60 each for them, any recommendations or experience with these lights is welcome

so is any advice

thanks, mitch

Hardtail dead?

Hi all, sorry but I need to get something off of my chest...
I have read several "New Bike" & "New frame" forums recently where hard tail frames have all but been dismissed as a thing of the past, contributors usually say something along the lines of:
"I locked out the back end of my (insert name) duallie the other day & it felt shit, "Why would anyone buy a hard tail bike/frame these days"?

Well, if you think that's really all there is to it then I think that you should borrow a reasonable HT & give it a spin around an XC circuit.
