Menai not so mad!
OPPOSITE THE ENTRANCE TO ANSTO ON THE NEW ILLAWARRA ROAD, LUCAS HEIGHTS.
This will be a XC type ride where the pace will be brisk and stops will be limited. There will be no North shore action and for once armor is not advised.
However, for those that don't know Menai, there will be technical ups and downs, there are a number of rocky sections and new comers to night riding might find this a bit tough.
Hope to see a few of you there.
Chris
PLEASE NOTE: I'M STARTING FROM A DIFFERENT LOCATION TO THE NOBMOB RIDE DATA BASE. WE'LL BE MEETING OPPOSITE THE ENTRANCE TO ANSTO ON THE NEW ILLAWARRA ROAD. PLEASE CALL IF YOU NEED DIRECTIONS.
Saturday morning Oxy fun!
Morgan Road, Belrose. At the second 90 degree right hand bend in the road. There's an area just before you can park and a firetrail heading off to the left.
So, I've got a few spare hours on Saturday morning, and hopefully taking an overseas friend out for a ride. I figured I'd post the ride up, so that you know about it!
Anyone's welcome to come along - definitely the more the merrier when Oxford Falls is concerned And having enough for shuttling makes it all the better!
Riding is definitely on the FR side of DH, and you'll definitely want a bike on the bigger end of the scale.
Let me know if you need any more info!
Sorry, have had to cancel. Riding Sunday instead, but not sure where...
Night ride - Glenbrook to the Oaks
Glenbrook Park. In the small car park opposite the shops.
Night ride - Glenbrook to the Oaks(the middle gate) via Euroka and Bennetts Ridge firetrail, return on the Oaks single track.
kiwarrak weekend
Deans Creek Road
So here it is as discussed previously a weekend @ Kiwarrak state forest riding & exploring those awesome looking trails.I'll be driving up on Friday arvo hoping to be there by around 3-3:30pm.I'll then try & find a good camping spot & get set up.May i suggest those coming along for this ride get my phone number from my profile just in case you can't find me or you're running late etc. Those of you who would like to come just for the day are more than welcome to do so we'll probably start riding about 9am saturday & sunday(or maybe earlier) those coming for the weekend will need to be self suff
tour de menai
lucas hieghts community school old illawarra rd barden ridge
a xc tour of menais best bits including mini north shore fun stuff (not compulsory) mostly single track with some technical climbs and descents,
regrouping stops to make sure we dont loose any one but most of all FUN about 25km but will probably feel like more ride will be moderate pace
but can vary depending on wot the group wants.
Red hill
Red Hill Reserve car park, off Lady Penryhn Drive, Beacon Hill. Another option is to ride over here from Oxford Falls.
Absolutely super keen for a technical ride!!! Never ridden red hill before so would be great to get some assistance i.e a well seasoned red hill rider.
Thanks.
Nocturnal Oaks.
Glenbrook station carpark.
OK guys, time for an Oaks adventure. BM Epic and I have been talking about this for a while as there have been some epic group rides on this trail in the past.
There is a train from penrith at 1840, getting into Glenbrook at 1853 and Woodford at 1924. Pace shall be social-ish.
For those training it from Glenbrook, meet at the station carpark.
Social Sunday @ Yellomundee
There's a car park (click for foggy picture) on Springwood Road - just down the way from Hawkesbury Heights if you're looking for a suburb name.
I posted a ride at Ourimbah without checking if there was a race on there which there is, so I thought Yellomundee might be some fun, cause i have not ridden there for a year or so. Lets hope not much rain fall between now and the weekend.
I would like to get 3 laps in (not sure of the distance at the moment). It is social, but not for beginners.
I can offer a lift for one person from around Top Ryde, Homebush area.
Bring some snacks and drinks as we can have a quick pit stop at the cars each time round if need be.
Social Sunday @ Ourimbah
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here).
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where a there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB sign here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
Social and fun is the theme, however this is not for beginners. I hope to do 3 laps, depending on the timing because i need to back in Sydney by lunch time.
For anyone who has not ridden there, its a great loop through the state forrest that is usually around 12kms or so depending on the condition. Majority is single track, it has some hills of course but not too nasty and some excellent decents. Its not very techical and there are some chicken runs around the harder stuff.
We can stop at the cars after each lap to get some food or drink for the next lap.
Cascading goodness
Acron Oval
End of exams celebration, what better place then the cascades.
layed back pace, just fun.
Would also like some expirienced cascade riders to come along if possible, would like to do some different routes to the ones i no.
See everyone on the trails.
Times might be subject to change
