Newbie's Qs about Riding after Rain

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi NobMobbers, thanks for having me here. Recently I've developed the riding bug that has me wanting to ride trails everyday, regardless of the weather. Having said that, I haven't been out in the mud yet for 2 reasons: I don't want to clean my bike all the time, and I don't want to be responsible for wrecking trails.

What is the etiquette for riding after rain? How many days of sunshine should you leave after rain before riding again? Is there a service that can tell you track conditions or track closures?

Recommendations for custom Jerseys/Knicks

Hey,

Long time lurker first time posting ^_^

I have a Jersey/Knicks design I want to get made up and I am trying to find a place that produces good quality matched with a reasonable price.

I only want a small quantity run, around 6-8 jerseys and 4-6 knicks. Though I am not to fussed if I can not get the knicks made.

Any suggestions??

Tips on a planing a trip to Thredbo

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi All,

I am planning a trip to Thredbo some time in March with a group of guys, maybe some girlfriends and familys too. We plan on doing 2-3 days of Downhill riding. I have looked at the Raw NRG website and know about the courses etc. My first question is should i take my Specialized Enduro SL or hire one of their DH rigs? My next question is putting it out there to people who have been before and might have any tips on accommodation, what to take, how to save a bit of cash etc.

STOLEN - Giant NRS 2.0 and GT ZUM 1.0

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

As of yesterday I have had both my bicycles stolen - One Giant NRS2.0 and one GT ZUM 1.0

I have no one to blame but myself (and the bastard/s that did it) - but nonetheless, on the off chance that someone who reads this comes accross either of these machines on eBay or in clasifieds or elsewhere, I thought it would be worth posting.

Here's a quick description of each in case you see something similar and think it might be mine.

Giant NRS 2.0
Frame is small and metalic red.
Shock is RockShox SID Rear
Forks are RockShox Psylo U-Turn (80-125mm)
Mavic UST tubeless rims

Rides around Batemans Bay, Mogo etc

I'm heading down to Rosedale, just south of Batemans Bay. Anyone got any suggestions on rides in the area or where I can find out info.

What bike to get???

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I currently ride a Norco Six 3 and am looking at getting something a little lighter. I started riding in 2000 on a Giant XTC NRS (it is just collecting dust) and I do like the ride of the Norco but it is just over 17kg. The below bikes range from 12-13kg and I think will suit what trails I ride most often . I have narrowed it down three bikes at this stage. I am only looking at bikes with 5 inches of travel as I think they start getting too heavy with my budget being $3500 max.

The order I have them in is;

1. Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp
