hmmmmmmmmmm
I had a good race no mechanicals or anything, did hit a bit of a hole around km 20, don't know why, and Davis_jnr came past me and we overtook each other a few times!!! but got going strong after the km 28 drink station, left with Davis_jnr and got up some of the hills ok. Later on the downhill he came flying past me, so did Peter J. and I managed to past them again.
I powered back on the gravel road to finish not close to the 2-30 h I was going for, but still not that bad.

Ho Hum
I had fun but am a little disappointed with a few things that went wrong to slow me down on the day.
The start was a little sluggish my legs felt like they were filled with cement and I just couldn’t get a good rhythm going after the 25km mark I started to get the bike moving and it started to feel like it had some flow and the race started to feel good I hit the 50k water station in 2hrs 48min filled up the camelback and continued on up the hill in good form with my legs and body finally warmed up.

100km Cherry popped
Having not trained for this event, and never ridden 100km before (in a week maybe), I was a bit scared about this one - so was the wife. I had dreams (nightmares) of cramps, crashes, mechanicals and helicopter rides.
Getting there early Sunday Morning when the light hit the surrounding hills, I think I did a little Shepherds' Pie in my knickers. I moved to the start line hoping to see some NobMobbers who like me wanted to complete rather than compete: and there 'The Pack' as we were apparently reffered to by the race officials, was formed.

50k of ridin' - 50k of crampin'
Last 50k was an excerise in holding back and not cramping up too much.
Too much road riding for my liking. At the gnarly bits the road riders block all access and one need to take the gnarliest of all lines to pass. Then on the road they come flying past. - Bastards

Dirtworks 2009 100km
Well this turned out to be a better effort than my previous 100km efforts. I had been a bit lazy on the training since the Mont so I had no idea how prepared I was.

Cant....type... too... tired
This will be short as I can't see the screen and my hands would be better controlled by a lorrikeet at the moment. I am really happy though, I managed to shave an hour and five from my time of last year to post a respectable (for me) 5:28. I had been doing quite a lot of shorter training rides but nothing over 70 kays so I was concerned I wouldn't go the course. Sure enough when I go to the top of the second large hill the cramps hit me and didn't leave for the rest of the ride. I just wasn't able to put the power down any more and had to limp home for the rest of the way on half power.

Cheers again Chris
Was a great ride and everyone obviously enjoyed it. What a great idea it was ride and a cuppa - meade it very sociable and fun for all. So when are you organising the next one? Count me in!

Worst race ever
This was my worst race ever . I started great , in fourth into the single track and went down hill from there , it was very cold with a temp of 7 deg but an App temp of 0.6 and a bloody cold westerly wind at 35-40 k with icy rain too .
This was also the easiest of the Stromlo trails with not much techy stuff or climing , not even half way up the mountain .
