Stationary bike power
Because of injury i've been training on a stationary bike at the gym. Just wondering if there is any guide for power or if its pretty irrelevant?
Due to my supreme lack of fitness i can hold around about 125 watts for about 10minutes at rpm of 90-95.

Training Partners?
Someone (from this forum!) who shall remain nameless has charmed me into joining his Mont 24 mixed sixes team, so now I've got to get all serious and do some training. Well, actually I was looking for an excuse to keep in shape and having him to blame is wonderfully convenient.

Injuries and keeping fit - any tips?
So yesterday morning the inevitable happened. I lost the rear end on a wet corner. Luckily it was on a quiet backstreet. A 4hr visit to Manly Hospital revealed a broken shoulder blade and other bangs, knocks and scrapes. It should heal ok and quickly too but I was wondering what does everyone else do to stay in shape whilst they can't be on the bike? Any tips for exercise and diet?
Cheers
Phil

Rainy Days/ Free Spin classes!
Any of you guys getting sick of the rain and need to get a hit out before the Highland Fling next week should check out the new Spin studio above KOM2 in Crows Nest.
Free classes for this weekend only.
1hr Classes tomorrow are at 9am sharp and 4pm.
Martine and i went for a class this morning and it was perfect training for a rainy day so if you're all fired up for the Fling and feeling the cabin fever on this wet weekend get yourself along and see Joel at Totally CYC'D at the back of KOM2 bike shop, 507 Pacific Hwy, Crows Nest. Entrance in Clarke lane.

Drop off practice
A fine good Friday morning to all,
Pure and simply I suck at drop offs, and struggle to get confidence on drops offs that are on trails that I ride purley for the ouch factor when I inevitably stuff it up. I've just seen this photo and looks like it has minimal consequences for a fall, can somone point me in the direction of where i can find this spot . ( I'll even let you know wghen I'm going down so we can go halves in the prize money for australias funniest home video when we take out the grand prize !!!)
Cheers Sam

Average speed
What is a good average speed to be able to ride at?
I realise there are a lot of variables involved - age, road or trail, bike type, fitness, weather etc etc.
However I don't seem to be able to get above an average speed of 20km/h, and this includes both off-road and on the road. (However with the same bike - Scott Spark mountain bike.)
I did some road riding yesterday and today and was surprised to find my average speed was not really any higher than I've done in the past on fire trails. I didn't think my fitness was off by that much and was expecting something higher.

Im New
Hey guys,
Im new to allthis but i want to seriously get involved....just wanted to know what kind of training should i do to get myself fit enough to do DH runs???

Meet Jure Robic, Slovenian hard man
I love this story. Anyone in training for DW should read and learn.
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/05/sports/playmag...
"Robic does not excel on physical talent alone. He is not always the fastest competitor... nor does he possess any towering physiological gift... He wins for the most fundamental of reasons: he refuses to stop."

Cycling Fitness
What are some good exercises to keep fit for cycling other than the obvious running? Thinking some sprinting, squats, squat jumps.
I’m going on holidays and can’t take the bike but want to keep my fitness up for the DW 50.

Cycling Specific Physio?
Hi - I am looking to see a reputable physio (potentially a knee specialist) in Sydney. Ideally Eastern 'burbs, but happy to travel.
I DONT want someone who wants to see my bike, play with my cleats, shoes etc. I dont agree with this approach....
Anyone had any good experiences?
