Ayups for trail running?
Am contemplating the purchase of some MTB lights. Thinking I will get out a lot more in winter if I can ride at night. Also contemplating 24hr races so a must have obviously. Anyway, I like the look of AYUPS (and have absolutely no skill to make my own lights at home so pls don't hijack thread) but the lights will also be used for trail running. I'd guess 80% MTB 20% running. The 20% running is fairly serious (in terms of duration and offroad, definitely not speed!!) though so can't just get the best MTB lights and hope they work ok for running.

Copenhagen Wheel Project
You all really need to check this out : http://senseable.mit.edu/copenhagenwheel/
Seems those crazy MIT guys have come up with a new take on the electric bike, and I thought some of us on here might find this interesting. This may possibly really take off, especially for the commuter market. Not sure how useful it will be in MTBing but for those who like to do a bit of touring, it may be a godsend. Here's what it does in their words :
lights review anyone?
I saw these lights and was wondering what the people who know more have to say about them:
HA-III Cree SSC P7-C: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29489
HA-III SSC P7-C: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149
Both claim to be 900 lummen and in total it would around 180AU$.
Looking forward to your input.
Thanks
New Comp for Both Cycling and Running
Ok, can anyone recommend me a good comp for both mountain biking, road riding and running.
Basically I have look at the Polar's and can see that they have a few comps that do both Cycling and Running, however dont have any mapping or anything like that.
Would I better off maybe getting two seperate computers, one for road/mtb work and then one for running as well?
What do people recommend.
Basically want Heart Rate, Cadence, Distance inc trip, total etc, mapping would be ok, not that fussed and yeah not sure what else really.

Hey all,
Who has tried this with their Garmin? Am using GarminConnect at the moment which I'm finding OK, but lacking in many respects. A lot less features than the now extinct MotionBased....
What do you guys reckon? or hold out till GC catches up to what MB had?
Just having a browse now.. seems cool...
Garmin Edge 705
I'm looking at purchasing a GPS system in the near future and the Garmin Edge 705 seems to be an ideal solution from :
http://www.ryda.com.au/ProductDetails.asp?Produc...
Can anyone let me know what comes with the unit in terms of maps or how I would get the maps / routes on there e.g. Manly Dam to record my times etc ?
Is it worthwile getting the cadence component as well ?? and does the unit work fine if it's in my camelbak or does it need to be mounted ideally ??
% of HR on Garman 705
OK, So I have this Garman Edge 705 and I can't work out how to get it to display HR as a percentage. I usually display in training zone but percentage is useful as well. I'm in IT, it can't be THAT hard!
Can anyone help?
MTB apps for your iPhone/iTouch
discovered this on MTBR - may be of use to those with the iPhone/iTouch or similar - or maybe a reason to buy one
looks like if you upload some of the apps it could do away with the need to buy other biking gadgets eg bike computer, gps trainer, HRM etc (i have not uploaded/tested the apps yet so don't quote me)
