Clip On or to not to Clip On

Whats the go for MTB'ers using clip-on's

I think I would prefer not to have them so i can freely move my feet on the pedals but if there are any advantages to using them i'd consider changing.

So are there any advantages to using clipon's ?

New Wheel Set Required

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi all, I'm looking at getting a new wheel set for my Merida OneTwenty as it uses shimano centre lock hubs and I really don't like my brakes and want to get some Avids and 6 bolt config.

I've been looking on the CRC site but not really sure what I want. I'm hovering around the 90kg mark, I don't do big drops but i do like to tackle rocky stuff so need something strong but not too heavy.

I've spotted the DT SWISS E2200 MTB Wheelset on Torpedo7. What do you think of these? I need QR front and rear

Suspension Question's

Hello everyone, how have we all been??
Just some suspension related questions, ive got a fox f120r front fork, and a fox rp2 on the back and with the front fork i think im due for new seals. One question i have is are you due for new seals when u touch the fork and theres a slight oil residue or is that just normal? And the second and final question is how on earth do u set up the pro-pedal on the rear :S I switch around the settings and there is no difference at all..

Thanks for the help in advance

Bike Weights

I'm only a little guy, struggling to get over 60kgs even with regular weight training.

Thus I feel that light bikes or the weight of bikes is important to me.

It's annoying that manufacturers don't list the weight of their competition bikes. Of course, they claim things such as:

Helmet Camera

I am thinking of buying a helmet camera and am looking for some advice. I have no experience of video cameras or helmet cams.

The ContourHD seems to be the pick of the bunch from the reviews I have read but it would be good to hear from people who have actually used a helmet cam.

Brakes

I have recently purchased an Anthem X 29er which I'm stoked with. I am going to change the brakes from Avid Elixr Cr's to XT's as I prefer them. The XT's are currently set up on my other bike with 160mm rotors. (the rotors on the Anthem are the same size) Do I need to swap the rotors or can I just bolt on the XT calipers/levers with original rotors that are currently on the Anthem?

Maxxis Larsen TT Lust

After getting a bubble in my rear Kenda Nevegal which came default with my bike, I went out to by a crossmark which I have used previous and liked but the shop dealer talked me into the Larsen. Its a bit late asking now as I have already bought and used it but have you used this tyre? what do you think of it?

Scott scale 20 - don't do it

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just to let people know my experience with Scott bikes; snapped my carbon scale frame at the chainstay yesterday in a completely limp wipeout i.e., steel, ti or aluminium would not have been damadged. Ok it may have been a freak occurance, but given the cost of the frame it's an expensive one. Sadly, the best Scott would offer me was 10% off the R.R.P. which means I could buy another of their sub-standard frames at the mere cost of £1170.
