suspension travel query
hi all, after many years on an hardtail, ive finally upgraded to a dually. during my first ride i got a little overconfident and scratched the new bike (shock horror) and myself, but all in the name of funn. however im having trouble setting sag. using a ruler im setting at around 12mm in the rear shock - less than the recommended range but yet still seam to use almost all of the travel, this is on a mostly benign firetrail. or is this normal.
Suspension Travel Requirements
Hi All,
It may sound like a silly question but I wouldn't mind hearing some peoples feedback, without coping a mouthful
I am in the process of looking for a second bike, longer travel for more AM riding. I currently rise a Epic 29er. But the query I have is in deciding what amount of travel I would ACTUALLY need. To paint the picture a little for you all I ride a Med frame and am also in the process of losing some weight with the aim to get myself 80 - 83 Kgs kitted in riding gear, height is ~5'9.
trek remedy 8 first impressions
well yesterday i purchased a new bike, the trek remedy 8,and took it for a spin today.previuosly i have ridden a 2006 and 2007 reign.the 2006 reign i have converted into a "reign x" so i wont compare it to the trek,my 2007 is bog stock, kinda.

2013 trek remedy 8
very interested in this bike, chasing comments positive and negative, mostly regarding the fox suspension, particularly the shock, climbing , descending and general feel, on paper this bike is very close to 2013 reign geometry, cheers in advance
2013 giant reign 1
chasing any positive or negative feedback on this bike, would like to buy one but stock is limited
Sharpie on sunnies
I was bored and couldn't stand anymore my white sunglasses (from Northwave). So yesterday I went *bananas* on them and customised it with a Sharpie and some nail polish
stink
was just on the giant US site looking at their new range, to my disgust they have dropped the reign entirely, instead we have a trance 27.5 with qr rear end and average spec for $500 more than last years reign, only upgrades being a xt crank and rear mech, something stinks at giant, was gunna get a new bike next year but i dont think it'll be a giant....stink!!!!!!!

Fox rear shock advice
I have a giant trance x2 2010 model that the rp2 bounces like a pogo stick and adjusting the pro pedal and rebound make no difference, even with 230psi in it.Doing a little research it sounds like it propbably needs a full re tune and service and at $175 according to the fox website probably not worth it.
Question
If I upgrade to a Fox RP23 what size will I need ?
The RP2 is a 7.875 x 1.750 which is 200mm x 44.5mm.
I have seen a RP23 which is 200mm x 51mm will this fit my trance ?
Its a good price at just over $200 new .
Shimano XT Brakes
I need some help/advice.
I plan on ditching my Avid Elixir 9 brakes (pain in the butt) for some Shimano XT's, which rotors do i need to buy & that will stop best, apparently there are 2 types, RT86 Ice Tech XT/Saint or RT76 XT. Your advice on both would be appreciated. Also, do i replace rotor sizes as per original sizes, and do i need new adapters front & rear? These are going onto an all mountain Trek Slash 8.
