SAM HILL 2010 Demo 8

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

2010 world comp winning Demo 8, This was the demo 8 Sam Hill took the flag on, fluro green, auto graphed by Sam, The same tyres that he put on, riden a handful of times since I've owned it, full XO sram gear, DT swiss wheels and hubs, BOXXER world cup forks, an absolute machine, but unfortunately I have as many ups as I do downs so I'm looking to fund a new bike.
This is a real trophy bike.

Shimano XTR Pedals over rated for trail use?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Was getting a bit of knee pain lately. So was doing a bit of investigation on the bike, and noticed that my one year old XTR M985 trail pedal bearings were flogged. The spline shaft had a heap of play. Check my 5 year XT pedals, no play. Had a set of old Deores in the shed no play. Will pull them apart tomorrow to see if the bearings can be changed.

Question about topeak pumps

Hi there,

Bit of a dumb question but I just bought a Topeak Joe Blow mountain pump.

http://www.topeak.com/products/pumps/jb_mountain

My question is is the yellow indicator on the pressure gauge ment to move as you pump? On mine, it doesn't move. The only way it moves is if I move it by hand.

Thanks for any help

All Mountain Bikes

Hi there.

I'm looking to upgrade to an all mountain bike in the next month or two, and have been seriously considering a 2013 Commencal Meta AM3 (can pick one up from Belrose for $2800). Has anyone got one or know people that do, or have any recommendations as to what people think are good (26er's)?

Price guide is $3500 give or take a bit.

Cheers.

Xavier.

New Bike

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Pic of my new Trek Remedy 9. Changes include swapping to XT 2x10 cranks, XT trail spd pedals, Blackspire twinity chain guide and new grips.

Went to Awaba today for the first time and tested the remedy's all mountain abilities by doing a few laps of the xc course then rode up mount faulk rd to the down hill course. Coming down was fantastic and scary as all hell, the course was definitely bigger than the bike, but I ended up walking only two sections which I was happy with. Overall stoked with the bike and cannot wait to get it down to Ourimbah's all mountain course.

Front & Rear Shock Pressures

Could somebody please let me know how often should you check your front & rear shock air pressures, and do they lose much air pressure?
Any help would be much appreciated, i'm a newbie to all this.

What MTB tyre for kids 24" bike?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi all

Just got my son this bad boy. Tyres are shot. I was going to get the Ignitor/Crossmark combination but Maxxis don't do them in 24". It will be mainly used for XC and light DH (eg Mt Gunjin).

Recommendations?
