2013 Giant Trance Setup / Tyres

Hi,

My first post here so apologies if it's in the wrong place.

After six months of trying to setup my 2013 Trance X2 I think I've finally got the setup ok, I've fitted a 80mm stem (I'm 175cms) and screwed around with the seat position so I'm not flying around all over the place. Any general or Trance specific suggestions on adjust rebound etc? I'm 86kg's with gear and run the front shock @ 110 and the rear @ 210.

Handlebar Dynamics

I've been having the same problem for a while now and enough is enough, every time i hit up the local single track my handlebars are too dam wide and i keep clipping trees (although not stacking, it bloody hurts). But not only that, when i do tight single track climbing its quite combersome but thats probably more to do with my geometry but handlebars will effect it? so heres my question - obviously i can go narrower bars but how will it effect my bikes handling.

A bit of a briefing on my bike. Quite a slack head angle 68˚ i think. 150mm travel all round short stem 50mm? etc etc..

Chainring bent

What do you reckon (photos attach), a bit of hammering repair will hold? or I better replace?

Frame crack

Interested in any views / recommendations on the safety / feasibility / cost of repairing a badly cracked aluminium frame (see pic). And yes, I should have been using a longer seat post.... Sad

Hitting Gunjin tomorrow Laughing out loud

29er wheelbags

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I have a set of race wheels that I would like to keep in a bag/or bags while sitting at home and in the car on riding weekends.
My dream (and looking around it seems it is just that) is to keep the tires mounted (not flat, but certainly not at 60Psi), rotors on, so all that needs doing is to change the cassette,,pump them up and ride off into the sunset. There doesn't need to be 100mm of padding as I look after them, but I don't want a bag with no padding.

Has anyone found any?

Is 2.1" front tyre too narrow

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I normally run a 2.35 ignitor (tubed) on the front but changing to UST after a very sad pinch flat last night.

I can get a cheap new LUST Ignitor for $30. However it's only 2.1 and I've read these are possibly thinner than stated. So is this going to be grippy and robust enough around the KC and the jumps on Loco, Lancaster etc?

tektro draco

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Folks,

Out here looking to buy a bike and the topic of brakes came up.

Question: How popular are tektro draco brakes? and can I get them serviced and get pads in Perth?

Opinions?

Thanks

Yarg
