Anthem Frame Breakage
Synopsis: My Anthem 29' Frame Broke/snapped and Giant replaced it. I understand that a number of frames have broken in a similar spot, so if you have an Anthem don't be surprised...
Re stanning a Tubles - having valve issues.
Folks,
Having recently "dethorned" my back tubles tire and got it back on full of stans the value is pissing air from where the valve meets the rim. Ive tried reseating it, I fiddled and its isnt working, so the question is - is it a case of maybe there is left over crap from the previous or some thing or do I need to get a new valve?
Thanks
Yarg

Calling All Trials Riders
Hi there trials people! Got a few questions for you.
I've been wanting to take up trials riding for many years - before mtb actually and am wondering how much difference a dedicated trials bike actually makes? Like does it really make track standing pivoting that much easier. Where does a trials bike really come into its own over a mtb. its probably quite a stupid question becasue of sheer size, weight and geometry but i'm tossing up weather i need to get one to sort of start jumping around and what not...
Leonardi Racing Kit General Lee 11/40 cassette kit
Can't find original post where someone asked about the above kit so will start a new post. I'll put my impressions of the kit up here and any problems/issues. I've just fitted the system and have not ridden it seriously so this is just setting the scene. This kit changes the gearing on a SRAM 10 speed 11-36 cassette to an 11-40, 10 speed. It is also compatible with the front ring from a SRAM 1 x 11 but keeps all the standard shifting gear. For Shimano the kit is different and turns it into an 11-42 cassette.
Which shoes
Looking at getting a pair of carbon sole shoes for the stiffness what's a good brand to spend me bonus on any suggestions tanks
Talas/Float conversion 140mm
Hey all,
Wondering if anyone has done a talas to float conversion on a 32mm fork (or who has worked on floats a bit). I've got all the parts but wasn't sure which way the negative spring cup is inserted into the stanchion. Is it so the spring sits inside the cup when installed? Or other way around so cup is upside down and spring sits on outside base of cup if that makes sense. I assembled it dry the first way and have 148mm showing on the stanchion after putting 60 psi in it. That's from top of dust seal lip to crown.
Any input appreciated,
Cheers.
Rock Shox revelations vs my current OEM fox
I currently have an OEM Talas RL 140 fork with a DT swiss 9mm QR
This is a bit better than the BBQ skewers on most QR systems, but still not as stiff as a 15mm thru axle
I only managed about 2 months ago to track down the constant creak to this fork
Using loctite I have managed to quieten it
I've always liked Fox as they are what I'm used to, but after the probs with this fork I've gone a bit sour on them
It's overdue for a service and rather than spend money on it, I'm thinking of an upgrade
Camera for New Zealand
Hi, heading to New Zealand in two weeks
Any advice on a cheap and cheerful point and click digital.
Something that is easy to fit in a pocket and retrieve quickly.
Budget up to $150 maybe more.
Cheers
Gearing Troubles
Hi everyone,
I've just got a weird problem with my gears that i haven't been able to find anywhere else.
Basically, when I shift into 1 or 2 on my rear gears, its really hard to do, and shifting into any other gears is really easy.
I'm riding a Centurion Backfire 3md and the specs on my gears are as follows.
Front Derailleur: Shimano M190
Rear Derailleurs : Shimano Acera-X (8 speed)
Chainwheel: Shimano M131 42-34-24 CG
Bottom Bracket: Cartridge bottom bracket
Chain: KMC Z51
29er Tandemanium
Well the long awaited 29er has arrived and had its maiden voyage Sunday night. Congrats to stokes on his new steed. All I can say is....."its a beast to ride". If you thought the 26" was quick on the dirt, then this machine just eats up all the bumps.
Thanks to Kerry at Phantom for building it up for us, its a nice machine.
With the 202cm ice techs it pulls up really well, and the fox floats in unison with the thud buster make for a nice combination in smoothing the trails.
