Well this morning I added a $4k Trek Superfly Al100 Pro to my collection. After info being thrown at me left right and centre, I was able to sort down to Anthem, Superfly, Scalpel and Epic, a bit more choosing put me down to Epic and Superfly, and after riding a fried‘s trek for the second time I could NOT resist it.

Bottom Bracket Tools

Can anyone tell me the type of bottom bracket tools needed to remove and install BB's on these 2 bikes please?

First two pics are from an Enduro and the last two from a Giant DH Comp. We like green....

Body armour

Hey guys, can anyone recommend a good body armour for doing the odd downhill run, comfort is a must. I've noticed some have a tortoise style shell back protector, but some are shorter than others, why? Any help would be appreciated.

Similar Bike to Giant Reign 2?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I was just wondering if anyone knows any bikes similar to the Giant Reign 2 or were to test one still in stock? It seems Giant has discontinued that range and replacing it with something by the name of FX in August.
Just to clarify I'm looking for a 150+mm travel bike that is mainly for decent's but still light enough to ride up hills, any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers

How much could I get for my old bike

Hey everyone

Starting to do the sums for an upgrade on my current bike and was wonder what would be a realistic price for my old bike.

It's a 2011 Giant Anthem x2 (specs = http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-au/bikes/model/...)

Everything is standard except I put a more comfortable saddle on, but its nothing special. Its well looked after and in good working order with only a few scratches in the paint. The brake pads, fork oil and fork/shock seals were replaced in Jan '13. I would estimate that it has done less than 5000 Kms.

Using tubeless tyre with tubes

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hay guys,

Slashed my tyre went to the shop and in my haste grabbed a tubeless tyre (Maxis Crossmark)just wondering if it is ok to use a tube in these tyres?

Reason I ask is that once the tyre is inflated it has a noticeable whobble (rim is straight) I have put different tubes in and pumped them up to max pressure unfortunately it is persisting. So I'm trying to figure out if it is the tube causing the issue or have I grabbed a dickie tyre?

Cheers

Specialized Comp Carbon

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

HI I have been riding for about a year now mainly around Dwellingup and Camel Farm with the occasional rides down South. But I have decided the Hard tail Haro needs an upgrade. I have done a lot of research and I am leaning towards the Specialized Comp Carbon. I would like to hear from anyone who has ridden one. From some of the chat rooms It sounds like they have some issues with squeaks and bearings failing. But I like the fact they ride like a hardtail

How long do your rear tyres last

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

This is my rear tyre, Its pretty shagged, LOL, I know. At that stage it had done 1800 km. Its now just over 2000 km. mainly around the Northern Beaches. I've just received my replacement tyre and it will be fitted in the next few days. This tyre had sensational grip when it was fresh. Front tyre was mounted new at the same time but still has plenty of meat left on it.

MTB gloves

Can anyone recommend good quality MTB gloves? I find the stitching on most brands comes apart within 6-9 months of constant use (but maybe that's par for the course?)
