Sunday evening night ride - Terrey Hills
Hello all,
I am out of town most of this weekend, so unfortunately will miss all of your cool rides! And I am feeling a bit under pressure now to test my new lights in time for The Mont. There are only 2 weekends left!! So to avoid being a night riding cherry, I wanted to do a lap around Terrey Hills. No sense in testing my lights at Red Hill first time around.
Regular Night Ride
Terry Hills Tavern
Hi,
Let me check if I have this ride right. It's not the "normal" or "usual" ride - that's the Manly Dam ride, its now being moved back to 7.16pm to allow buck to get there on time. We will be having a beer in the tav afterwards but we will need to go to the same table.. Someone might do Centre, Duck, Perimeter and the long trail as well....
Anyway .....
Manly Dam - Novice Sunday Session
New to MTB and have only done Manly Dam once before.
2-3 novice friends will be coming too.
Novices and Vets welcome. Looks like rain is forecast for Friday. Hopefully the trail will be OK by Sunday morning.
We may do a second lap if the 1st is quick enough.
Manly Dam Novice
On Saturday morning I'll be taking a novice mate round the Dam. He's been there before, but because this isn't likely to be very speedy and he's pretty new at this I'm throwing it out there for others to join.
If you've been lurking here wanting to say hello but have been a bit put off by all the high speed, long distance action then be put off no more - this is for you!
National Ride to Work Day
October 17th is National Ride to Work day, and if you work in the city there's a free breakfast on down on Hickson Road.

Usual Night Ride
Terry Hills Tavern Car Park
Hi Everyone,
Just posting the "usual" weekly ride here We had a fair bit of fun last Wednesday dodging a lot of the wallabies.
If you are looking for something more technical and check the "regular" weekly ride on Tuesday night.
See you there
Andrew
Late Post: Oaks up and down and maybe some more.
Going for a training ride and here is the plan:
1- Leave Glenbrook station, bypass the single track on the uphill and go all the way to Woodford.
2- Ride down the Oaks to the beginning of the single track and if the legs allow, go up again till the helipad and then go back all the way to Glenbrook.
I'm not sure if this second leg will happen, but I'm willing to try anyway.
I'm going to Glenbrook by train, so I may get a little late depending on Cityrail's mood.
Sydney Spring Fat Tyre Festival - 8 1/4 hrs of Power
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here).
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where a there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB sign here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
If you'd been at the Sydney 24hr in the last couple of years you may have seen a rather disreputable looking party in one corner of the camp site known affectionately as the 12 Hours of Power. I'd post photos but they probably need to go in the Over 18 section.
These very same people have put together this:
"Normal" weekly night ride
Well after an "interesting" night last night we all thought we'd front up again for this one and seek some revenge.
Standard loop plus Bantry Bay
Rob, this one has got your name all over it for testing those new lights mate. Craig c'mon mate its been a good couple of weeks since I have "accidently" looked you in the eye at night, surely your vision has returned by now?
Liam and Caro, I expect your lights will have arrived in time for this one and you guys plan such epic day rides I never get to tag along.
West Head Tomorrow Afternoon
301 & 303 McCars Crek Rd
I have the day off work tomorrow and was going to head out to west head for a ride. The aim is to start at Terry Hills and make my way out to some of the trails at west head. I would like to cover at least 30km at a reasonable pace to get some training in for the Scott in a couple of weekends time. Would anyone like to join me?
Matt
