It's On
Three Ring Circus 2012
4Km SW of Wingello village on Caoura Rd there's a small base camp within the forest - seems as good a place as any.
Looking forward to this one. Last year was perfect weather - cold on the start line and just right once going. See you there!
The Kowalski Classic
The Ride Canberra site describes the main forest entrance as being the corner of Kowan Road and Sutton Roads. There is a parking area 5km into the forest along Kowan road with gates that may be locked. Call Canberra Connect (13 22 81) for the combinations or ride from Sutton Road for a warm up.
What is The Kowalski Classic?
For nigh on two decades, local trail building legends Paul Cole, Alan Anderson and the mysterious Kowalski Brothers have been hand-crafting trails in the ACT region. Thanks to their dirty work, Sparrow Hill and East Kowen Forest have become single track nirvana. The innuagural Kowalski Classic gives you the chance to race it all in one hit. Ride the Bird, then the Kow, then the Bird, then the Kow!
The Kowalski Classic is the ultimate single track enduro with two race distances taking in the very best trails in Sparrow Hill and East Kowen.
Tour de Winmalee + Springwood Sports Club
End of White Cross Rd, Winmalee, NSW. There's a small parking area here but it's a standard suburban street so overflow isn't a problem.
Bring your lights and head out to GHS from White Cross. Back down the other side avoiding the forbidden bits and back to the cars.
Head in to Springers for tea at the Sports Club afterwards for those interested/hungry/etc.
Glenbrook Social Ride
Glenbrook Park. In the small car park opposite the shops.
Glenbrook to the Oaks(the middle gate) via Euroka Clearing and Bennetts Ridge firetrail, return on the Oaks single track.
I have a spare light if anyone wants to try night riding.
Social ride, all welcome!!
Late notice Thursday night laps of the Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
I'm going to head out for a lap or two of the dam. Nothing too serious or fast, somewhere in the 35-40 min range but with a little goading I'm happy to go faster or slower. I'd rather not do night laps solo, just in case, so if anyone wants to come for a burl let me know
Kanangra Classic
Boyd River Camp ground, Kanangra Boyd National Park
The Kanangra Classic is a great weekend of outdoor recreation held in the beautiful Kanangra Boyd National Park. Located just 146km west of Penrith and approx 30 minutes from the Oberon township the Kanangra Boyd National Park is an iconic part of the greater Blue Mountains.
A blast through Galston Gorge
End of Stewart Ave, Hornsby
The usual, a blast up and down, early Sunday morning. It'll have been newly graded as of then so all the more reason to hit the track!
andersons and oaks ride to beat the winter blues!
Keen to do the The Oaks so we meet at Glenbrook.
The pace will be "medium social" - This will mean several short stops will happen at the creeks, KOMs and the helipad, though besides that I want us to be able to move along at a body warming pace, so it'd be preferable to ride with people with a established degree of fitness.
Knapsack's First Dig
At long last we will be working with council in Knapsack reserve.
• Plan:

8:30 - 12 We will be attacking the Lantana below the soccer fields.

• Wear: Boots, long trousers and long sleeved shirts. Council will provide gloves, but bring some if you have them.
• Tools: Bring loppers, sheers and/or Saws. Council will provide some tools, and chemicals.
Red Hill - 8:30am - Saturday
On Lady Penryhn Drive, Beacon Hill, near the gate/trail head.
Heading to Red Hill for some trail riding this coming Saturday, so please join me if you are keen. I know the place pretty well so I can be your guide if needed.
Rough plan is to ride the "Main Trail" to the rock lookout ("Red Hill View"), then south around the ridge, through "Mr Motorcross" area to the "Rim Ride" sniggle. Then ride some of the other sniggle between the two main trails ("Corner Cut"/"No Name") on the way back to the cars. Something like that anyway.
Cheers,
