Berowra update for 10 Dec

Area:
Berowra Heights
Status:
Green/Open

Track's in great condition - there's a few puddles and trees down, but nothing major; all these obstacles can be 'jumped' quite easily!

Ride Database Entry:
Berowra Heights
Meeting Point:

Corner of Gully and Berowra Waters Road. There's a little playground there that has a tap to fill water up from and a car park behind the shops.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

If the timings on Friday afternoon aren't suitable for you, let me know and I might be able to change them.

If you've been here before with me, you'll know what to expect. If you haven't here's a rough outline:

We start by going along a nice quiet road, which starts to descend, and gradually you go faster and faster, until a final mad rush, where you'll hit terminal velocity (well, not quite, but I hit 66.6km/h once). Like the sound of that? It's just the beginning.

Manly Dam update for 10 Dec

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

I know they've re-opened the Dam, but i rode there this morning and although the majority of the track is in good condition, the known wet areas are well.......really quite wet! I went thinking I'd do a couple of laps and stopped after one! If the the heat/humidity keep up over the next day with no additional rain I'd suggest Sunday would be the day.

Dealing with Sweaty Clothes after Morning Ride

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

So I have been riding into work for a while now, however the recent temperatures in the morning have started to pose a interesting problem. I sweat a lot when I ride in and go through almost a litre of fluid an hour if its hot, which is posing me two significant issues currently when riding in which are:

1. my nicks and shirt are normally pretty drenched when I get in, so getting them dry is a slight issue

Damn 1 x 9

it's the perfect bike for climbs like this as it's light and stiff but like a single-speeder the lack of low gearing means you just have to keep on attacking the hill. The lowest gear it's got is 36f-32r which it was in for most of that hill. Great for getting a good time but it sure destroys you
