Greetings.

This ride post is coming at you with late notice on a Friday night, but I refrained from posting it as I had no idea what the weather would be like on Saturday morning.

For anyone interested, I will be doing a longer distance ride on Saturday morning, covering places like Duckholes, Chiltern, Centre, Perimeter and Long trail. Maybe an extra bit here or there. Should be good for about 40-50km, depending on how I feel. These trails may be a little bit damp, but should be ridable. It will sure beat Manly Dam. Eye-wink

Any current update available on Ourimbah conditions?

AMBC is floating the idea of moving our Trailbreakers course from Manly Dam up to OUrimbah on Sunday (5/12/10).

Normally you'd have to hold me back from any opportunity to ride up there. But given the recent amounts of rain, I don't really want to be party to moving the problem of trashing trails from the now-closed Manly Dam onto somebody else.

Would appreciate some current information on the state of the trail.

Thankyou! Smiling

Cascades update for 03 Dec

Area:
Cascades
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Not too bad. 2 trees down, but not in bad spots (watch out Jono). Some wet areas but not muddy. Quite a quick ride thru and track not damaged. The creeks have subsided to normal. The sandy areas are now safer and quicker to ride thru. Probably one of the better rides in the area considering.

Manly Dam update for 03 Dec

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Red/Closed

Official closure notice... Please respect this and allow the trail time to dry out. I know it's not as much fun, but consider riding some of the firetrails in Ku-ring-gai National Park or elsewhere.

Dear Mountain Bike Riders,

Sorry folks, but over 80mm of rain in a 48 hour period means we need to CLOSE the track again due to wet conditions. Please note we will notify you when we re-open it. Until then we appreciate your cooperation in staying off the track. Please let all your riding associates know.

Thanks and kind regards,

Manly Dam Rangers

Stolen: Cannondale Rush Team Issue

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

We often talk about bike insurance, garaging, etc. here and like most I always think things are pretty safe. Turns out they are not Sad

Sometime this week someone walked past all the cameras in our building and through 2 security doors, cut through a Kyrptonite Cable and walked out with my Cannondale Rush. They left the Yeti (probably because the fork is being serviced and wasn't attached to the bike) and Pratiwi's Trek hardtail.

I've spoken to the building manager and am hopeful of getting some mug shots of the b@stards who did this.

Fun Fun Fun...........and some cramp........and a bent rotor..............

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

This was our (me and my gf Rach) first ever ride at Awaba and our first go at the Spring Fat Tyre. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and loved the track, the people and the organisation, we'll def be back for more! Some highlights include:

- only 1 stack each and nothing major. mine resulting in a bent rear brake rotor (which the CBD guys fixed in a jiffy) and Rach's in some scrapes and bruises (but they didn't start hurting until the day after!)
