4 x sub 28min laps

Below is a preview, click to read the full post
Date:

Challenge:
Manly Dam 2 Laps

After the temperature finally went down a few degrees, I drove out to Manly for this weeks XC hit-out.

I tried to maintain a pretty consistent pace, knowing I was doing 4 laps. Turns out I got my pacing pretty spot on and managed to finish all 4 laps in sub 28 mins - my last two laps were even fractionally faster than the first two.

As at Friday it's as good as it gets.
Water at the creek crossing but nowhere else. Even the trail after MVPS is dry.

Saddles

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I broke the saddle on my Scalpel awhile back, and bought a WTB Silverado carbon as a replacement but I can't get on with it. Nice and light but too firm for my soft butt.

The Prologo X8 that broke was very comfortable, but having broken one I'm a bit wary of getting the same again. Spesh are great for road use and I have one on the roadie but a bit wide for mtb riding for me. Anything over 135mm and I bang up my inside thighs too much.

North Turramurra update for 17 Dec

Status:
Green/Open

Rode the Grosvenor Track and then through to Jubes, McRae Pl and the North Turra sniggle. All pretty dry - some loose stuff on a few of the hills from the rain. Nth Turra sniggle is getting a bit overgrown and has one boggy section (leaky pipe??) with a techy little bypass on the uphill side.

Lane Cove National Park update for 17 Dec

Status:
Green/Open

Rode in from De Burgh's bridge, up Yanco Rd fire trail and back in via Gloucester Ave, through to Pennant Hills Park. Surprisingly dry given the recent storms. A few puddles that are easy to get around and some nice dampened sand, which will dry out pretty quickly given the forecast.
