Terrey Hills update for 05 Dec

Status:
Green/Open

Nerang section is the driest I've seen it for over a year although is now pretty chopped up and virtually single trail in sections now. I'd put money on a grader coming through there some time in the next 6 months.

Rest of the trail is dry and fast. Couple of sand drifts around although nothing out of the ordinary.

Have fun out there!

Manly Dam update for 04 Dec

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Dry as a bone now.

They've dug a couple of drainage ditches on the edge of the firetrail in a couple of spots where the worst bogs were. So on the trail behind MVPS it's had a grading and a ditch dug. And the bog that was after the creek crossing is now DRY! They've dug a ditch alongside the firetrail to stop the water constantly pouring across there too.

Possums, Gahnia, Serrata etc all completely dry.

Withdrawn: 26 inch rear wheel (rim brakes)

Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.

Need a replacement rear wheel for the old bike that I ride to the beach. Must compatible with rim brakes. Hopefully someone has an old wheel or two lying around.

Thanks,

Nigel

Below is a preview, click to read the full post
When:
Sunday, 20 December, 2015 - 07:30

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Terrey Hills / Duffys Forest
Meeting Point:

Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Its on again ladies and germs - last year's ride saw sunny skies and lots of smiles (no red mankini's in sight), be a part of it.

A casual ride through Ku Ring Gai national park starting at Terrey Hills and traversing along Perimeter and Long trails and return via some sweet muppety st ives singletrail (see what I did there). An option for either a 22 or 45km round trip is offered, there are always plenty of people doing either distances so you won't be alone whichever distance you choose.

Mark Gunter

I'm friends with Marks sister-in-law and she said Leanne would like cyclists to attend Marks funeral and is hoping for a guard of honour for him with their bikes. If you attend the funeral then PLEASE take your bikes.

It's next Wednesday at Ryde.

Just so very sad.

Old Man's Valley update for 01 Dec

Status:
Green/Open

Some drilling work going on on the fire trail link to the start of Lava Flow and the ascending trail. Lava Flow can be accessed via the lower fire trail, but the ascending trail (newer bit) is pretty much out of play during work hours. Overall the track is great - completely dry and has held up well after the Festival.
