RNP Maintanence Day
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Rangers office carpark on Farnell Ave. This is the second turnoff you'll come to right at the top of the hill down to Audley.
This is a trail maintenance day at Royal National Park.
Just a reminder of another day of track maintenance is scheduled for this Saturday. I'm told I have to pick my game up and supply morning tea.
We'll be working on the temptation creek area so you can meet us on the track just up from the creek crossing if you don’t want to come to the office.

Copenhagen Wheel Project
You all really need to check this out : http://senseable.mit.edu/copenhagenwheel/
Seems those crazy MIT guys have come up with a new take on the electric bike, and I thought some of us on here might find this interesting. This may possibly really take off, especially for the commuter market. Not sure how useful it will be in MTBing but for those who like to do a bit of touring, it may be a godsend. Here's what it does in their words :

Can you still ride Manly Dam ?
I was hoping to go for a blast on Saturday morning. May be naive of me to ask given all of the feedback and discussion but can you still ride some of the trails?

hydro disk brakes
Hi all, problem is I have just replaced my rear disk brakes and have got everything back together fine but the drag on the wheel seems to be a little excessive and I barely need to touch the lever to get the tyre to lock up. What I would like to know is there a way of loosing the pads or do i need to wait until they wear down slightly?
any help is greatly appreciated. Matt

Red Hill update for 16 Feb
Went for a ride this arvo and the majority of the track is good to go but some sections are still saturated and the usual large puddles are still very deep (some axle depth).
Providing we get no more rain before the weekend it may be OK from then on.
There are a few new tricky bits as the result of erosion coming down the big hill from red hill side before you reach the aboriginal carvings.
Do you have more information?
If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.
Please do not post comments with such information - post a new update with the link above.

appin- tour guide needed!
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
North end of Burke St, Appin. There's a small parking area here at the trail head.
Note that the map shows Market Street connecting Appin Rd to this location but that is actually a firetrail and will not work for drivers who should take King St (next block South) and enter from there.
hi,
moderate rider would like to try appin but not too sure of the track layout, ( how easy it is too get lost and such), so if anyone would like to ride and knows the way that would be great, pm or give us a bell!
cheers

cell bikes= don't bother
being new to the sport of mountain biking i was excited and eager to pick out my new horse, with decidedly little knowledge and a relatively small budget i ended up picking one from cell bikes on parramatta rd,really wrong decision, not so much for the bike just for the really, really poor service. so was just interested if anybody else had endured the souless sales monkey at cell? Now i could go on with a plethara of complaints, grumbles and issues i've had over the past 8 months but i think i'll leave it.
thoughts?
