Government policy will be our saviour

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The stupidity or ignorance of government, at all levels, never ceases to amaze me. We have opposition parties denying the contribution of humans on global warming/climate change. Stupid and ignorant.

We have lying governments invading other countries simply to harness the power of their energy for their own selfish needs whilst Haiti self-implodes in poverty and lawlessness. Narrow minded and selfish.

Manly Dam - NEWS just in!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Jeff,

After much researching and communicating, it looks as though we may have found a way to reverse this decision at the Council meeting on the 23rd of February in favour of all mountain bikers!

I ask you to remain patient until then.

Kind regards,

Cr Bob Giltinan J.P

Oh my God my face is purple

Date:
8 Jan 10

Put in a good run down to the pump station from the Parkway where we entered the track. Had an evil friend behind who took a masochistic delight in telling me to "keep pedalling" in a loud manner.
From the big flat rock overlooking the golf course on the way back we made it out to the Parkway in 4 minutes!!!

Manly Dam update for 15 Feb

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Red/Closed

Haven't ridden there today, but with the amount of rain yesterday and last night it'd be a shocker.

Plus it might as well be closed to me now until the 23rd of March (and longer). Sad

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.
Please do not post comments with such information - post a new update with the link above.

Temporary compromise . . .

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi everyone,

It seems that there are a lot of you out there trying to get the Manly Dam track reinstated which is obviously what we all want, but I havent seen any discussion on proposals we could make to the council that would be a "compromise" to their current decision. Whatever happens lets be honest, it doesnt seem like there will be any decision made until after the March 23rd meeting, and the current notice on the council website says that a full consultation process may take up 6 months . . . . . .

Red hill

is anyone looking at going to redhill for a ride today before 4pm ? I am relatively new to the sport ( 4 months ) and have never ridden up there and would love to meet up and join someone for a ride around today. If anyone is willing and able today would be greatly appreciated.

Mike Baird's view on the Manly Dam Issue

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Local MP Mike Baird has put out a press release on the Manly Dam fiasco, and shows a level of understanding and commonsense sadly lacking in the council.

I'm thankful of all the support Mike has given, and continues to give to mountain bike riders.

KEEP MANLY DAM OPEN FOR MOUNTAIN BIKING

Manly MP Mike Baird has appealed to Warringah Council to show some commonsense and manage the risks rather than ban mountain biking at Manly Dam.

Hello from New Zealand

Hi Nobmob,
Really like the site and the concept - "if you want to start a club, well, go for it". It's the philosophy of the Rotorua Singlespeed Society.
On the other hand, we did put our hands up to run the Singlespeed Worlds in Durango in 2009...and got it!
So if you feel like a trip to some great singletrack and a chance to enter a world champs with no qualifications and all just across the ditch, check out the website - www.sswc10nz.com
We'd really like to have as many Aussies there as possible.
