Newbie

Hi All,

New to this site and just moved down from Brissie; keen to get out with a regular group. Are there any regular weekday and weekend groups to tag along with.

Mainly XC stuff

Cheers,

Andy

This may or may not be of any interest to anyone, but...

Steve & I went on a little ride today and before leaving I joked to the GF I'd probably loose 4kg or so during that outing. Well, what do you know, that pretty much happened!

None of this is very accurate of course, because my memory sucks and our scales are not the best, but here's some figures all the same:

This morning, around 7:15am after eating breakie I weighed about 84kg.
When we'd done riding and sitting around talking cr@p Eye-wink (around 1:30pm) I weighed about 79.5kg.

Linden Ridge

I asked a nice question and I got a nice reply.
so excellent.

The map SCA map of Woodford Dam shows Glossop Rd Linden marked in red too.

Sections of Glossip Road fall within the Woodford Special Area that has recently been opened to allow for walking and bicycling access. Access beyond the locked gate is permissible to access Linden Ridge and the associated fire trails. Access to the areas behind the chain wire fence such as the old water treatment plant and the access track to the dam from Glossip Road are still prohibited.

Back on the bike - yeeeehaaah

After a 7 month absence, I'm now officially back on the bike !

So far only road commuting but hopefully some light offroad around March ( hopefully in time to train for Dirtworks...)

The ride in this morning felt great although my fitness is seriously below par. The sessions on the trainer have certainly helped though as I wasn't quite as bad as I though I might be.

lights review anyone?

I saw these lights and was wondering what the people who know more have to say about them:

HA-III Cree SSC P7-C: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29489
HA-III SSC P7-C: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149

Both claim to be 900 lummen and in total it would around 180AU$.

Looking forward to your input.

Thanks

Adjusting the AIR pressure on Marzocchi

Hi Guys & Gals,
I am totally confused by this task, when I adjust the pressure in my forks according to the manual they are as hard as, I have followed the directions to the letter oil levels and air pressures to set up. my question is do I put 3 bar in each or just the left.

oil 35 mm from top when fully compressed
air 3-3.5 bar (about 50psi)

in one leg it feels ok and givs me sag of about 20%

in two legs hard as honey mooners D**k no sag

any help or advise welcome.

The MTB Brotherhood

We were up at The Oaks on Satruday morning. Our plan to ride up and back was cut short when CV's front brake failed on the decent down to the watercrossing. The springy thing that holds the brake pads apart had split in two. Epic failure. We were pondering our next steps when a fellow MTB'er came down the road, crossed the creek and stopped. No sooner had he seen the front brake in pieces he offered to help. In fact he flips his bike upside down, pulls off the front wheel and removes the brake pads from his Scott. "Take this one" he says and handed over his 'springy thing'.
