Bike insurance

Does anyone have their bikes insured against damage while out riding? I believe most contents and portable insurance wont cover you if you are actually on the bike.

Ourimbah

When:
Sunday, 7 December, 2008 - 11:00

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest
Meeting Point:

North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.

***TIME CHANGED TO 11AM TO CATER FOR ANY JUMP TRAINING PEOPLE TO COME UP. RIZ!***

I didn't make it on Wednesday night and seeing as Harry is doing his chops about it I want to see the track. And after last weekend in the Blueys I'm PUMPED for singletrack!

I haven't done it before so will be exploratory pace (well, the first lap anyway.....)

If there's any racing going on there that I don't know about please let me know, otherwise I'll be there unless it's too wet.

Meet in the larger car park listed above (I don't know it but I'm sure it's easy).

Meeting Point:

Manly Dam Picnic Area table number Area 1 shelter 1 (look for the sign NobMob or Andrew Lai)

Its on again! The NobMob Christmas BBQ! How does a few laps of the dam sound followed by a BBQ with the Mob?

Ive just booked a BBQ, one of the ones where you just push a button for the gas to come on. Its near the playground (wherever that is) I'll advise the BBQ number soon.

Don't forget its booked ALL DAY so if you want a brekkie, lunch or late arvo BBQ go right ahead. BYO food and extras to share.

Look for the sign NobMob/Andrew Lai on a BBQ, we wont fit all our meat on at once so be prepared to cook at various times blah blah blah

Now in its fifth year, the course follows the historic Convict Trail through the Dharug and Yengo National Parks. The mix of fast fire trail, technical single track, rocky descents, and spectacular ridgeline views is unmatched by any other MTB event. The Dirt Works Classic starts and finishes in the historic township of St. Albans and competitors can choose between the full "Century of Dirt" and the 50km course.

Was your submission the the NP tourism taskfork counted?

There has been a bit of talk about the low number of submissions from the MTB community on the recent tourism taskforce.

Details of every submission is on this page (or if they move from there, they are also in the Appendix document):

http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/parks/tourismt...

For the record, if you submitted comment supporting MTB access (which is clearly a very easy way to increase tourism and park use) to the taskforce and your submission is not listed please comment on this thread. Just a simple, "They forgot me - Fred Flintstone" will suffice.

Update: Please indicate if you sent your submission via email or regular postal mail.

Update: To clarify - we are talking about the NSW Tourism Taskforce for NSW National Parks as discussed on the DECC site above (not the other trail advocacy campaign about trails in Hornsby which seems to have had more support).

Please do not comment on this thread for any other reason. If you want to discuss this further please start another topic.

Well I wanted to try something new next week. I don't think we've ever done Red Hill at night.

This ride will be very technical so unfortunately will not be for beginners.

Bring a beer for the chat after.

Pads would also be highly recommended.
