Mt Keira DH

Had a awsome day down at the gong today. Hit up the DH tracks at Mt Keira.
First time there and I was very Impressed, about 5 different trails with something for all.

If your looking for a top day out out of Sydney get down there but get in early as its get a lot of riders later in the day.

Cant wait to go back!

Random Solo ride around the area

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

With everyone off to the CORC24 this weekend I thought I would take myself on a solo explore around the area and check out some new (to me) tracks. This was the first proper ride I have done since I broke my ribs in the Angry Doctor so I was anxious to find out how I would go. The idea was to ride from my place to Heath Track, up Quary track, ridgetop track and over the Mona Vale road and around the back of the show ground onto the single track to the start of Wildflower garden and follow that (sort of) through Garden Gully to Ryland and then Sandy Trail.

Hornsby Council XC single track update - next step to make it happen - emails written now as the time for comments closing soon

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I have some feedback from council. The proposal (as posted by Noel) is out for comment from the public. They will take the feedback from the public (us) and assess the level of support for each area of the Unstructured Recreation Draft Plan. Its pretty simple. If there is a lot of support from the public for a particular area of the plan (for example bushwalking) then they will progress it and put it to council for a capital works plan. If there is not a lot of support then it will be canned.

There have not been a lot of letters/emails written in support of a XC track so as it is it may not carry a lot of weight.

The times for comments closes in about a week.

Head mounted camera's

Does anyone know of some good head mounted camera's, how much and a link or brand/model?

Helmets

Ok, I'm thinking about buying a new one, so someone tell me what I would be getting for $300 compared to something under $100? From what I can see they all meet the required safety standards, weight appears similar, so does it come down to the fit and the style?

It goes without saying I value my head and what's inside but obviously there is still room for enlightenment!
