schwabe nobby nic/ racing ralph vs maxxis Ardent

Hi all,

I've just put a deposit down on my new wheels for Christmas the 2015 Anthem SX 27.5 and I'm super pumped! However I want to know what everyone's advice and experience is with the Maxxis Ardent tyre tubeless vs the standard combo that comes with the bike being the schwabe racing Ralph and nobby Nic, I haven't rode on either before, I'm currently using maxxis crossmark with tubes. This is my first time going tubeless.

Ride Database Entry:

Meeting Point:

Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.

Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

I am driving up from Freshie, I have space for two in my Ute if anyone needs a lift, leaving Freshie at 07:30 at the latest.

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

From SNORC:

"Hi xxx
Old Man's Valley Bike Festival - Registration is Now Open!
Many of you said "hey, let's have an event, let's get together and ride the trails" - well here it finally is - the OMV Bike Festival on Sat 13 Dec 2014. Help us show Council that we love these trials and need them (many of you have seen media reports of Quarry filling which could impact trails) by participating in the festival and sending the message that cycling is something that needs to be supported into the future.

Manly Dam update for 24 Oct

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

The whole fire trail has now been graded with a fair bit of tree lopping as well. This means it is quite loose and sandy all the way to Allambie. There's a high chance of getting sticks in your spokes. Still rideable but be alert.
BTW I spoke with the team doing the tree lopping - they said they've been copping a bit of flack from mtbers - please remember it's a fire trail and these folk are just doing their job.
