Getting steel frame back in shape
Can anyone recommend someone to get my steel frame back in shape? After three-and-a-half years of some pretty hard riding on this rigid, steel frame I've managed to bend the chain/seat stays. No structural damage. I love the way this bike rides and really, really wanna keep it rolling. Hoping I can find an expert frame builder/repairer to help sort it.
The bike's a Jones spaceframe – http://www.jonesbikes.com/framesets/
I know some of you will, say I should just get the Ti version, but that's kinda outa my price range right now.

My first "real "race.
So,
I got on a bike 4 months ago knowing nothing of the sport or anyone in my group of friends and acquaintances who rides. I basically wanted to drop kegs and get fit and was very quickly surprised how much I thoroughly enjoy getting out for a ride when work and family allowed it.
My inner competitive streak was tweaked when I realised how much racing has a part to play in all this, and so I had been looking for a pathway into racing that wasn't going to flog me, whilst still allowing me an opportunity to get a taste of racing.

Wingello
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
4Km SW of Wingello village on Caoura Rd there's a small base camp within the forest - seems as good a place as any.
Heading down for the day to get minimum two red loops in before heading back to Sydney. Around 1hr 35min per lap. Have room for other riders and bikes if you need a lift. Will be leaving Pennant Hills at 7am. PM me if you need a lift.

Withdrawn: 2013 Merida 1-20 XT Build
2013 Merida 1-20 Dual Suspension 26" Mountain Bike
Size Large (20")
Only rode the frame twice - mix of brand new components and components off my previous frame
A really nice bike at a bargain price! The Merida's don't get a lot of coverage in the media, but this is a really fun bike and the remote lever for the rear shock really brings the suspension to life. Perfect for XC / Trail riding.
Custom build:
- Rear Shock: Brand new 2013 Fox Float CTD Factory with Boost Valve and Remote
(Note: comes with a 2014 remote - massive improvement on the 2013 remote!)

Uphill good, downhill bad.
Being a smaller race with a couple of big climbs, I figured this race might be my chance to get somewhere near the podium - something I've never done. I looked up last year's results and the winning time for my age group was about 2:20. So I had my target - to be under 2:30, and as close as possible to 2:20.

Good thing I've got the flu and have no social life. I get to stay in and watch the Schurter vs Absalon show down.

Mild Start, Wild Finish!
Mild Start, Wild Finish!
Some races have been just a matter of an individuals having good bike handling, pacing and fitness in order to do well. Others have had the whereabouts of other riders - being able to work with and against them - as the critical factor to what determines who stands on the podium at the the end.
The WWR was the latter.
