Gibb St Butcher
It's time to start the count.
I'm curious. Last year the gibb st butcher (manly dam loop) managed a victim count of over 100, but was probably a lot more. Reference... Well none, just conversations with riders. I'm wondering how many he will get this time?
Feel free to share your experience.
I'm hoping to open up a tally, for shits and giggles.
Disclaimer.
I understand it is a territorial bird and we as riders are entering it's nesting zone. This is not a partition to have the afore mentioned bird destroyed or relocated.

Rode Perimeter yesterday. Surprised how dry it was. Both creeks very low. Very rdiable in the morning . . . then it rained in the arvo. As long as it stays dry Friday, it should be fine for riding at the weekend.

Pre Kowalski Classic training ride
Looking at heading down to Wingello next week to get away from the Sydney rain and get some k's in the legs prior to the Kowalski Classic. I can do either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and can provide transport from Cherrybrook for additional persons. Tuesday looks best of the days for weather. Would look to leave at about 7am, do two laps of the red loop minimum and then return home via the bakeries in Bundanoon for refuelling!!! If anyone is interested please reply or PM me. Depending on interest I will then post a ride meet

Replacing BB71 Bearings
Hi all, i was wondering if anyone has taken Shimano bb71/51 apart to replace the bearings, i know it says on the BB that there not to be opened but it would be easier to replace the bearings rather than the whole thing. Is it possible? There's no doubt i could find Ceramic replaceable bearings that would fit cheaper than the whole BB, thanks guys
Warranty - What they cover ?
After finding after a few months of riding that the rear wheel of my bike was getting a bit on the wobbly side I took it into the shop where I bought it and been informed that Im going to be charged by the agent for for a hub rebuild because the sealed hub was found to have water inside. This I thought would be a fault with the seals themselves and not because of something like the way I have been cleaning the bike e.g high pressure water.

Coaching
Well we've had the Amway version of mountain bike coaching and nutrition put to us, but since the way that was sold on this forum raised a few too many red flags for me, I'm looking for some more conventional alternatives.
Can anyone suggest or recommend a coach to work with? Experience with - ahem - more "senior" athletes would be well regarded.
I have recently acquired power meters on both roadie and race mtb with this in mind. Can work with a remote coach if needed but prefer someone local to Sydney, and Northern Beaches would be better.
Let me know your thoughts!
Riding in newcastle
I have an opportunity to visit newcastle for a couple a few days (it would be a monday, tuesday, Wednesday) and just wondering how good the trails are up there and if someone would be keen for a ride?

Terrey Hills update for 02 Sep
As discussed in the forum:
We rode Perimeter trail last weekend (31/8) and heading west just past the NBCS entrance is a massive tree down across the trail.
It added a little cyclo-cross to our "paddle". Saying it was wet is an understatment.
Do you have more information?
