Wylde MTB Trail update for 28 Jun
After 20 min of light rain it was too slippery to ride. It's had another 3 hrs since so don't even think about it.

Decline in Races - Why is this happening?
Many will have seen a recent announcement that the Highland Fling maybe following the demise of so many other races with even the Mont and the Kowalski coming to an end this year. I'd be interested in what people think as to why these things are happening. Is it:
1. These races are run for profit and not volunteers and therefore are prone to declines in sponsorship?
2. That people are changing habits and want to do more downhill when these races are marathon by nature?
3. That we're not promoting the sport enough?
4. That the races were just not that enjoyable?

Kiddie Friendly Tracks Around Orange
G'day All
Heading up to Orange with the family these school hols and was after some local advice on what tracks might be kiddie friendly (5-8yrs).
I am guessing there might be some more suitable options at Lake Canobolas rather than Kinross, but would welcome any pointers.
Manly Dam update for 26 Jun
Honestly, as long as your fine with getting some mud up your back and doing a good bike clean when you get home you'll be fine. The track is in good condition despite some large puddles which should clear up within the next few days as long as the rain holds off. Couldn't see any issues riding it now. Had a blast today.

Bantry Bay update for 26 Jun
Possums - Berms have dried up significantly and soil is in the perfect condition for grip on turns. Only some mud left but it can be avoided.
Mistress - Couldn't see a puddle in sight. Same soil conditions as Possums.
Daisy Duke - Fine down low but coming towards the top it got very muddy and slippery on the rocks where the waterfall flows. Had to ditch my bike on one of the rocks as water had caused lots of moss to grow on the rock from the rain last week. This track should be in good condition within the next few days if the rain holds off. Wouldn't recommend riding for a couple days cos it ruins the trail when its wet.

Camden River update for 26 Jun
All good to ride as of Friday the 26/06/2017. Bit slippy in places but no standing water or puddles.

W2G 2017
Beautiful day for this one. Interesting start in age group waves meant that for the first part at least, I had an idea where I was in my category. Position varied from 4th onto the dirt up to 2nd then drifting to fifth as the uphills slowed me down, then back up to 4th at the finish. Lost time when the front der wouldn't change down on BMX hill and with an ill-advised and unsuccessful overtaking manoeuvre in the run down from the helipad. Finished 81st out of 250 odd overall and 4th out of 20 in over 60's.
The Oaks update for 25 Jun
Rode the fire trail today in the W2G. Dry and now with a very clean traffic line all the way down to Bennetts Ridge FT. Didn't do the sniggle.
