Cheap CREE LED lights from Kogan?
Kogan are selling a 1200 lumen CREE led headlamp (no handlebar mount)for $35. Not the latest state of the art however $35 for around 1200 lumens seems like fair value if the quality is ok and the design looks very familiar to several others out there in the marketplace. could be a good cheap commuter light. Anyone have any experience with these units?

A new level of fatigue!
A NEW LEVEL OF FATIGUE!
Ever since I discovered that there was an Under 23 category for 24 hour racing, I had contemplated having a go at one. Although the most I'd done in previous races was 100km events, I have done 12 and 24h rogaines (on-foot navigation competitions), so I had hoped that I'd be able to merge my cycling ability with my long-term endurance. To put things mildly though, a 24h (solo) on the bike is a a big step up from a marathon, so before I did one of them, I needed an intermediate type of event that would get me a feel for what this type of riding would be like.

Old Man's Valley update for 13 Jul
All open apart from the new stage 2 dark blue track which is undergoing more work.
Despite there being signs and bunting closing that track is was sad to see someone riding it today.
To the guy in the fluro top, thanks for spoiling it for the rest of us!

Manly Dam update for 12 Jul
Rode around today and all open and good. No major difference to the part between the fire trail & that rock shelf descent that has claimed a few scalps (19th hole?) - a few of the step downs have a rock ledge to make them a bit more gentle. Past the rock shelf drop they have made a sort of sandstone road to smooth out the bit between the rock shelf and the park at Allambie. It's similar to what they've done above the golf course below the rock garden descent.
Also, just before the 19th hole rock shelf descent, after the timber ladder things, they have put a sign for intermediate to go right and do a u-turn down to the rock shelf descent (what I've always done) and Advanced to go left. Advanced still comes back down the rock shelf.
