New apparel ideas by Specialized
Some great new ideas / concepts for riding apparel. I like how these guys are always
Pushing the boundaries of what is possible, what works or doesn't.
Not sure how all this will work, but certainly worth a look.

24 hr race - what to bring?
I am entering my first team 24 hour race.
What advice do you have in terms of what equipment, spares, general kit should I bring?
Thanks

Wanted: Shimano SLX brakes and/or 160mm centre lock rotor
Wanted SLX M675 or better shimano brakes. Ideally 160mm centre lock rotors (though I only need one as I have the other already).

Manly Dam update for 29 Apr
Still plenty of puddles and soft bits.
Riders are doing a great job of going around puddles and tricky areas resulting in track widening. Plus I see the "staircase" just after the golf course rock has had a B line added by those who are too lazy to develop their skills. That said there were some branches across it so hopefully council are addressing the issue.
Come on guys and gals, if you can't ride a section, either walk it or spend time working out how to do it. Creating your own lines is not a good look for the MTB community as it shows a lack of respect for the existing trail.

New MTB'er
Hello all,
Just wanting to say hi and introduce myself. Been following this forum since Christmas and signed up today. Came back to cycling about 6 months ago after being off the bike for 10 years. The old road bike isn't as comfortable anymore so have been looking to give mtb ago and get away from the cars. So I did the specialized test day at OMV (thanks to spotting the post on here), what an introduction to mtb

Manitou Fork
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with minutou forks? Ive busted the end bolt at the bottom of my fox forks so decided to replace.
I found this deal on CRC: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/au/en/manitou...
Any opinions out there?
Cheers

Rear shock length
Hi folks, just wandering if ypu can put a slightly longer shock onto the back end of a giant cypher. The shock length (eye to eye)appears to be about 185mm,would a slightly longer shock be ok?Im guessing that it would be slightly more compressed than normal, but should work allright. Im Mr Magoo when it comes to bike tech sadly....

Manly Dam getting $110000 upgrade!
I can't see that this has been posted yet, but I just found this on Council website. $110000 to be spent on track work commencing May June!

That's good money! Well done to every person who helped make this happen!

The dreaded lurgy strikes
Was really looking forward to this, my first real race, having built up some fitness and skills over the last 18 months. Unfortunately 'he who never gets sick' started feeling lethargic and sore in the days leading up to ANZAC day - an ominous sign.
We arrived at James Estate Winery just after lunchtime on Friday. What a stunning place for a winery let alone a MTB race - surrounded by the rock escarpments of nearby national parks.
