Local Bike Shops: Responses to common newbie queries
We often cop flack around here for not doing enough for the local bike shop, so I wanted to try something out and see what kind of response it would get...
The idea was to write to local bricks-and-mortar stores and let them know we wanted to produce a kind of editorial piece on advice from local stores, aimed mainly at relatively new riders, and invite the stores to have input into this. This forum has a large readership and it was explained that taking part would be an ideal opportunity for local stores to provide an insight into their expertise.

A quick shout out to Erina Bikeworx, they looked after me today with a good deal on a set of forks. If you live on the Central Coast check them out.

SXC Racing - The Season Finale
The last race in the Single Track Mind series at the great and exciting trails of Kinross near Orange, proved to be a great way to close out the race calendar for the SXC Racing Team for 2013.
Leaving a wet and cold Sydney, to sunshine and dusty trails of the Central West was an easy sell, and we had our Masters team primed to close out the series with another win, and our Mixed team going for bragging rights as they had already secured the series win from their consistency in the previous 4 races.

Quarry Road Track (Berowra Valley) update for 24 Nov
Plenty of shallow runoff water across the track in places this morning, but almost no mud. It was actually really beautiful seeing a couple of small waterfalls in places I've never seen them before, in the lower part of the valley. Not as wet as I expected after yesterday's downpour, and definitely ok to ride.
