Manly Dam update for 26 Jul
Drying out more each day - pretty good actually.
I saw 1 other rider the whole lap. I could get use to this Friday morning ride business.
Best of riding to all doing the 3 Ring Circus. I'm liking the look of the weather forecast - despite the cold!

3 Ring - tyre pressure?
Hi all,
New to MTB and doing my first race on Sunday - 3 Ring Circus.
Any suggestions on suitable tyre pressure - I ride a 29er with inner tubes and am about 78kg. I've been riding around Perimeter, Long, centre Track, Duck holes, etc about mid 30s PSI.
Any other basic tips for newbies - am guessing arm warmers will be needed plus carry a banana, sandwich or muesli bar as well as enough liquid.
Thanks heaps and apologies if this is all a bit basic.
Cheers,

MTB Helmet advice
Hey Crew,
New to the sport around 6 month and have had a crappy Bell helmet bought from Anaconda. Can anyone recommend a good brain bucket under say $100. Or is it really worth spending more?
Cheers

Are 29ers any good at rock climbs?
I'm looking at new bikes and thinking of crossing to the dark side.
My question is can 29ers climb rock step ups as easy as easy as a 26" ie: Manly dam steps at the top of the track and Red Hill steps.
I know they take a bit more effort to get up hills like heart break on the dam , but don't really want to miss out on the mountain goat stuff.
I wasn't convinced by the shop salesman answers so real life experiences would be appreciated.
Cheers

Anyone have a GoPro they‘d be willing to loan?
Hi guys,

Terrey Hills Base training ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Aiming to take in Duck Holes, Centre, Perimeter and Long and maybe a side order of Cowan.
Given that I can't see the mud bogs near the Nerang Rd entrance drying much since last weekend, we'll probably start Perimeter at the Jap school, so there will be a few more road kms than usual.
We'll regroup periodically but I'm looking to keep stops and chinwag sessions short... eg, no stop at end of Long.
Total distance will be 38-44km
Can be flexible on the earlier side for start time if needed.
