Major Development Threat to Oxford Falls + Red Hill trail network
I'd just like to unpack some of the earlier post on this subject. This is quite serious.
The State government is looking to develop the land in the Red Hill and Oxford Falls area that Warringah Council was looking to set aside as an Environmental Protection Zone. The EPZ would have worked very well for us. Seeing that didn't come off, the government is looking to pounce.

Manly Dam update for 02 Oct
All green.
The trail fairies have been busy over the last week. I noticed that the old, direct line to the 19th hole drop had been closed (again) with a large boulder and branches. However, by my 2nd lap today, the boulder and branches had been moved away. It was a pretty big boulder. Somebody must have been pretty unhappy!
If the butcher bird is still drawing blood, try covering your nose and mouth with your hand as you are riding by. It still swoops but doesn’t strike. Took me 3 bleeding nose rides to work out this defence but it has been 100% successful on the last 6-8 laps.

Tubeless rims and tyres
It's my first time posting on the forum and was hoping someone could give me some advice on tubeless tyres and rims. After getting 3 flats riding manly dam yesterday i thought it might be worthwhile to change to tubeless but have no idea what to look for or how much I would need to spend.
I ride a 26" giant hardtail at the moment and mainly ride around manly dam and cascades. Any help would be greatly appreciated I am getting really sick of changing or repairing tubes on the side of the trail

Getting Faster
I surprised myself actually doing this time because it was a very windy day. I think I will be able to go sub 40 very soon.

2012 HMBA XC Rd 9 - Awaba
Raced in C grade. First race at Awaba. They used a different route for this race. Almost took a wrong turn on the first lap which lost me 20sec. Had a few gear problems which lost me another 20sec. I couldn't get around the guy in front of me for 8th. First race on my new Trek Superfly.

2011 HMBA XC Rd 10 - Dungog 3hr
3rd out of 4 in E grade. This was my first race. Poored down with lots of thunder and lightning in the last 1hr of the race. Suffered sore hands for the first half of the race which slowed me down a lot.

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 01 Oct
Yellomundee was great on Sat 29 Sept. Firm after a bit of rain a few days before - but will dry out and loosen up quickly.
We will be doing some track maintenance work out there this Saturday, 6 Oct from 8.30am to lunch (BBQ by WSMTB). All welcome! If everyone did a day per year - then our MTB tracks around Sydney would be even better. Improvements and repairs just don't happen by magic. Let me know if you can come and help.
