Canberra this weekend
Heading to Canberra this weekend, looking for a bit of local knowledge as to which xc trails are riding well, and which are likely to shed the rain forecast for tomorrow the quickest.

The new 'Look' MTB Catalogue
Just a random post I thought might be of interest to some...
I was out riding* today and came across these guys at two separate locations purely by chance. Took a few snaps very quickly as didn't want to annoy the pro. Although second time I spoke to them and turns out they were shooting for the new 'Look' MTB catalogue. The LBS here has a few of these bikes in store and they look uber-bling. Can't say I am a fan of the propriety stem mind

Garmin Edge 500 Firmware Update 3.0
I just come across the latest firmware update for the Edge 500. I have only just installed it and haven't tested as yet but they have added a couple more screens now which I think is pretty cool.

I can't find any ride on http://connect.garmin.com/explore to upload onto my Edge
for the Oxford Falls (Morgan Road).
I know I can download the GPX from here, but I want a common loop.

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 14 Jun
The heavy rain earlier this week on top of the saturated soil at Yellomundee means that the area is still unsuitable for riding - with many muddy and soft areas. We have had to postpone the NSW All Schools XC scheduled for Sunday 17 June - probably until Oct/Nov.

HMBA Club XC Race Round 6
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Just up Jenkins Road from corner with Mount Faulk Road.
On the day the registration tent will be set up in the clearing at the end of the down hill track.
Laps numbers depend on conditions and sometimes the course is modified...
Staggered start, but all riders on the trail at the same time.
Mount Annan Botanic Garden update for 12 Jun
Remaining closed over the weekend due to water still running over the trail. Keep an eye on FB for updates

Wet weather trails
As there seems to be a few trails currently going through planning with various councils and land owners, is there any chance of making one of them a wet weather trail? It gets very frustrating that there is no where to ride when the rain comes.
I've been on one in Christchurch and although it wasn't technical, it had a few humps and flowed well. The surface was a fine gravel that drained well and was hard packed so maintenance shouldn't be too high. Look up 'bottle lake forest' if you're interested.
