The Oaks update for 28 Jan
Ridden 3x in January - in pretty good condition overall. Sandy in places, long & deep enough to catch out the unwary. Single track between the gate & the new realignment becoming overgrown - eye protection an absolute must. Realignment in excellent condition, only one corner towards the end is showing signs of a heavy cut being worn into it (no surprise given the natural speed & line of approach from the previous corner) otherwise has bedded in nicely, at its best a day or two after rain.

First lap ever - borrowed 26" dually
Started doing a little MTB riding on my brother in laws 26" dually a few weeks ago and I thought I would test myself on Manly Dam. I'd seen the 'Hot Lap' board and was curious to measure myself as a complete beginner.
I was hoping for around the 35 minute mark, but I think I lost an absolute bucket load of time on each of the technical sections.
Next step, by some MTB shoes so my feet don't bounce off the pedals after every bump.
Wylde MTB Trail update for 22 Jan
Rode here this afternoon (a bit hot !). Track itself is in great condition with only a few damp patches and one big puddle near top of Hold On Valley.
The recent rain and warm weather is giving the weeds a big boost - they have grown tall and are encroaching on the track so much it narrows the line and hides the apexes and so changes the character of the track a bit (notable in first half). Lean into the weeds at the apex if you dare as the thistles are tall, strong and sharp.
There might be an angry 1.5m brown snake near Powerline Paddock - it was stretched across the track - I think I cleared it but I was not going back to find out.

Mount Annan Botanic Garden update for 09 Jan
Highly likely to be closed Saturday. 19mm of rain 5pm Friday at the weather station inside the gardens(Campbelltown BOM)and 400m from the track. Best to check the Gardens FB page for updates (nothing there at 6pm)

WSMTB 4hr Summer Series Rnd 3

Wylde MTB Car park and Trail head is just off Elizabeth drive located next to the Sydney International (Cecil Park) Shooting Centre. The turn off can be found on the left 3km Due west from the M7 Motorway or on the right 600m Due East from Mamre Road.
The series will be running the following Categories and Costs:
Solo Men, Solo Women: $40
Pairs Men, Pair's Women, Pairs Mixed: $60 combined
Note for Mixed Pairs - the female rider must complete 1/3 of total number of laps.
Mixed Threes (at least one female rider required): $75 combined
Note that one female rider must complete 1/5 of the total number of laps.
Juniors Threes: $30 combined
