Singleton MTB track update for 24 Mar

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Status:
Green/Open

Could not be more green, It is really dry and really hard with only a couple of corners with sand/loose dirt. Did a quick lap this afternoon after putting the bunting up and let me tell you, the track is super quick. Get your semi slicks on and take off the middle and granny ring cause you won't need them at the club round tomorrow!

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 23 Mar

Would have to call it 'green with some issues'.

There's just a few puddles left now and they are just the spots that were damaged in the recent extended wet.
They are areas that will need repair anyway so there's no point waiting for them to dry out completely.

Awaba State Forest update for 22 Mar

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Status:
Red/Closed

XC Network - Still closed. We will be doing a full trail audit next week, but at the moment there is still a lot of groundwater bubbling to the surface, combined with the mess left from the Nationals we have left it closed.

DH Trail - Closed at the request of State Forests but the top half may be in use for racing this weekend.

Went for a ride an easy this arvo to have a look.
Can report the following:

Shaft ok, usual puddles.
Snakes and ladders perfect.
Seismic pretty good just overgrown.
First part of Kenny's pretty good, largely due to the recent work you guys have done there (thankyou!!) The rest of Kenny's was still mush.
Seuss drying out well too.

Hope this helps anyone wondering Smiling

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 20 Mar

Just got back from trailwork. Drying slowly today.

By this afternoon the Gun Club ridge loops should be ok.
I'd avoid Reload and probably Twisties, a bit wet.

You could ride up Snakes & Ladders if you use firetrails to get to the bottom.
Actually most firetrail is good, Big dipper a bit wet but I drained the 'splash zone' of the little creek.

Please avoid Kenny's and High Roller, new work means they should be better for the future but need to dry first.

BMORC visiting Glenrock

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post
When:
Sunday, 25 March, 2012 - 10:45

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Glenrock State Conservation Area
Meeting Point:

Corner of Pacific Highway and Fernleigh Loop, Adamstown Heights

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Currently Chuck and Myself plan to visit Glenrock. Check out the work that has been done and enjoy a ride.

BMORC has just won a council battle to get Knapsack developed and we would like to get a closer look at what has been done at Glenrock.

We are hoping a local may be kind enough to meet up and give us a guided tour. Some background knowledge in the construction of the trails would be fantastic.

We will keep an eye on the weather and trail status updates. If the tracks are to wet we will post pone for a better day.

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 19 Mar

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Amber/Some Issues

Was starting to dry out yesterday but more rain in the evening didn't help.
We need another dry day before I'd advise riding the singletrack - especially Kenny's.
Firetrail is all good, minimal standing water. Big Dipper a bit wet but rideable.
