Heavy amounts of precipitation up here in Merewether Heights will have rendered the fine trails of Glenrock too overly wet & unrideable.

MTB research at University of newcastle

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi all, the sport science department of the University of Newcastle is currently putting together a series of research studies that will take place over the next year or two.

We are looking for well-trained male cross-country cyclists aged 18-35 to participate in these studies.
EDIT: well-trained meaning elite/A-grade or expert/b-grade or training around 10+ hours per week

The first of these studies will only require one session of cycling on a cycle ergometer lasting 45min - 1 hour. This can be done either in Newcastle or Central Coast at a time that suits you.

Aarrrggh very frustrating. Took 2 hrs to patch it back up. Was lucky there has been a little bit of rain.

Well, was ok a few hours ago, but 60mm of rain so far today will mean every hollow is full of water - might be a few days to dry out after this one

Hi everybody, road about a 1/3rd of GR today but missed Kenny's and shaft, thinking they'd be wet, it's actually pretty good but a few puddles here and there - the bike doesn't need cleaning and I didn't need hosing off, so all in all very good considering the 25mm of rain. Any more rain however will push it over the edge is my guess.

Didn't leave tyre tracks and climbing the clay out of the shit works was grippy with no mud at all ( my personal barometer of wetness)
