Kenny's , baileys etc - Red - muddy, trails wearing ruts up the little hill near the start. Twisties is also red

Most everything else is damp with patches of mud and puddles - bike will need a clean after - all good for a wet weather loop at least.

Hi all

I've recently got back on the bike after recovering from a ruptured ACL and have been riding to work through glenrock twice a week to get the strength and fitness back. Its hard to find the motivation to ride by myself so I thought I'd put it out there to see if anyone is keen to join me.

Thursday arvo ride ended up being fire trails, snakes and the odd track near gun club road as well as a grass fighting run round the quarry!

Majorly wet , still lots of deep puddles and mud, Might be orange by the weekend. Didn't ride Kenny's or shaft because they would be shite.

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 07 Jun

The absolute worst conditions for Glenrock this morning.
Heavy rain yesterday and overnight followed by a sunny Saturday morning.

This is when all the damage to trails we see happens.

The trails are not dry enough to handle cycling traffic.

People who must ride should try to stick to the fire-trails and management roads, please.

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 01 Jun

Green/Open

Went in today to check out the Port to Port, overall the trails are dryer than yesterday and for the most part I am calling it green.

Few wet areas include;
Entrance to Baileys (will be wet for a while)
Exit of the creek on shaft (not too bad)
Baileys Management Trail (at the bottom of the hill)
Yuelarbah Management Trail in places
Fernleigh Management Trail

All the mud on my bike is from the management trails.

Everything else has been drying out nicely......fingers crossed the rain on the radar isn't too heavy.

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 31 May

Amber/Some Issues

Just went in for a ride for the NPWS to inspect the Port to Port route and make the preliminary call on wet or dry route. For the most part its surprisingly dry in Glenrock. Of the trails I rode, here is an update.

Snakes and Ladders - Other then a puddle that needs to be de-bermed on the first right, all good.
Seismick - All Good
Pump Action - Other than the Quarry Clay, which wasn't as bad as expected, not to bad.
ReLoad - All Good
Kenny's - Few puddles/boggy ruts in the first 100m or so, then all good until the Bailey's Paddock entrance.
Seuss Land - Few puddles in the middle section, drying out.
Shaft - Wet after the creek crossing, otherwise fine. Little slippery in the reworked easement.
Hang Ten - has a section 10m long that is wet and slippery, and the big corner is holding some moisture.
Management Trails - Mixed bag, some wet bits mostly dry.
Grass Tree - Awesome

With no rain it will be dry quickly. At this stage the Port to Port will be on the dry weather loop unless we get a bit of rain overnight.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone out there knows if a 11 speed cassette will fit on a 10 speed wheel?
My wheels are Easton haven.
Thanks for any input.

Is anybody here going to race in this event? I am doing all 4 days, and I expect to be pretty stuffed by the end. Smiling

Also, as this race will pass through Glenrock I wonder what sort of impact, if any, there might be on the trails. Although I've only been in Newcastle for 3 years I don't recall seeing any race days here.

Cheers,
Jake
