Manly Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
I'm looking to do 2 or three laps. We'll likely dive off for one of those and cross the Parkway to do the new singletrack climb that joins the northern end of Bantry Bay with the overbridge and Aquatic Centre descent to the pipeline easement.
Beginner XC ride - Duckholes/Centre - all welcome
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Hello all budding new riders.
Some newer participants to the sport have recently asked for some practice in getting out there and riding some of our local trails. So if you are new to mtb riding and would like to come along, please update your 'star' to show your participation.
Trail selection was something fairly easy but not boring. I figure Duckholes/Centre a good ride and far more interesting than doing the Long Trail.
Lap of Woodford Dam and the single track.
Car park behind Hazelbrook shop's. Meet by the new amenities block.
We are going to do a lap of Woodford Dam then over the highway, ride the single track and maybe out via Terrace Falls.
Duck Holes + Centre + St Ives Singletrack Return
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
The weather forecast looks a lot better for Sunday, mid-20s. Here's a chance to check out what NPWS has fixed on the trail with Perimeter trail scheduled to be opened on Friday.
Update: since NPWS contractors haven't finished the works on Perimeter we're reverting to Duck Holes and Centre.
If there is appetite for some climbing we'll throw in Chiltern in the middle for some variety. I haven't ridden on this track previously so we can get lost together
Sunday Stringline
Glenbrook Oval, Hare St, Glenbrook NSW. Near the skate park. Ride down Moore Street to the start of trail that leads into the main park around the gate.
We ask visitors to please park here to not affect the residents. Plenty of parking plus amenities.
So, unfortunately I was in Canada when the new DH trail opened, so I'm finally getting a chance to head up there!
I'll be bringing one mate along, so if more than 3 others want to rock up we'll need another shuttle vehicle (as I can do 5).
C'mon, who wants to show me down the new trail! Kingy, I'm looking at you!
Knapsack XC ride
Knapsack Oval, end of Levy Street Glenbrook
Following a GPX link I downloaded into the Garmin for first lap. After that will probably do more laps or just explore for a couple more hours. Trying to get some km's in after 5 week illness so not looking to stop too often but won't be a cracking pace either. I suspect somewhere between the 15-20km/hr mark on average
Manly Dam - Saturday Morning
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
A lap or 2 around the dam if anyone is interested
Ourimbah to Kulnura + XC
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
Riding up to Kulnura via Condies shelf road then Red Hill road until we get to the tar & then return the same way. A couple of XC laps once we"re back to finish off the legs. Pace will only be as fast as the slowest rider.A few hills in this one.
