BMX track at Seaforth in the early 1980's
When i was a lad. I arrived in Manly Manly as a 12 year old. Aussies had surf boards, skateboards, & BMX bikes. My old Country had none of it. except I'd heard of skateboards. Ceratilnly never heard of BMX until I came to AUS.
I arrived here in 1978 I recon by late 1979 or early 1980 I as right into BMXing. I was a BMX head. Big time.
There used to be a BMX track in Seaforth. Near wehere now there is the pump track behind the comunity center right next to the tennis courts.
In fact...I can see the pump track from my balcony right now.Its called The Grove.

Tyre cross hatch trivia
At the Mont on the weekend, me and some team mates were shooting the breeze about the crosses that develop in/on the dust on the sidewalls of tyres.
Someone said- and it sounds like a wives tale- that it means the tyre pressure was perfect for the track. Someone else just said it happens all the time and is meaningless.
Does anyone know- or have any clues as to the cause and if it actually means anything?

Ran over this fellahs tail this arvo at Coondoo and he took a snap at my missus who was close behind, missed luckily but they can move pretty quickly when upset!
I'm after some knee pads
Hi all,
I've only got 7 weeks left in Oz before I return to the UK and although I'm posting my bike back home I am trying to cut down on what extra stuff I need to take. I've also already got knee pads back in UK (I didn't bring them as I never planned to buy a bike out here). As such I don't really want to buy new for such a short time and then have to try and flog them.
BB bearing press
Hi there.
My Bottom Bracket Bearings ars shot. Ive removed them & will get some Press fit bearings on the way to work tomorrow.
Does anyone on the Northern beaches have a Bearing press they are willing to lend me?
Ive seen the Getto ones but don't have time during the day to get all the bits for it
In the old BMX days I used to fit them with a hammer & piece of wood & make sure they go in straight. Nevere had a problem. But they were Cro-moly frames in those days.....

Wanted to borrow: Bike bag for over the ditch trip
Hi folks,
Have a trip to Wanaka booked for Christmas and want to take my bike.
Just wondered if anyone out there wants to lend me their bike bag to fit a Stumpy Evo 29er from around 20th Dec to 11th Jan?
Happy to donate a box of favourite brown ale or similar.
Otherwise I will just do the box thing from the LBS.
thanks,
Richard
Dimensions for NSW Auxiliary number plate
Hiya, I'm getting a frame made up to mount my Thule 591's on as a rear rack and just wondering if someone can let me know the size of the auxiliary plate for a bike rack so I can get mounts for the lights and plate fitted.
Cheers

Lost front wheel… in Leura
LOST yesterday arvo (Sat. 4 Oct), 5pm – my front wheel in Leura main street, in front of the bottleshop (Leura Cellars, awesome range of beers btw). It's a 26" Mavic Crossride.
Cross my fingers someone saved it for me. PM if you did or know who.
