Rydal is a tiny and unique village, listed as a heritage site, set in magnificent countryside.
Rydal remains a quintessential rural village with its invigorating climate and fresh air.
A plethora of old 4x4 and moto trails exist through the bush land here and CTMBC are hoping to make this area their new home,
The main rd in has been dusty as all get up so in an effort to keep on the good side of the locals it might be best to come in via the showground.
From the highway come into Rydal, cross the train tracks and take a left before the Pub (Showground signposted.)
Go around the top side of the show ground and follow the road around to the left. This will take you around towards the top side of the cemetery. from there a couple of cross rd will bring you back tot he bicentennial trail and thus the car park

Easily hooked up with the Lidsdale South side trails via fire roads, the bicentennial trail or one of the moto single trails this area offers a lot of riding and some more challenging terrain.
The area borders Lake Lyell and Marrangaroo National Park
Lake Lyell is full for the first time in about 10 years so offers a picturesque recreational lake for camping, swimming and fishing. The Recreation Area boasts a range of amenities including BBQ's, picnic and shower facilities and a children’s playground.
Marrangaroo National Park (Mt Walker) – located near Rydal, at the back of Lake Lyell , tracks down to the river provide the opportunity to navigate on a variety of 4WD access roads. Tracks include water crossings and rugged hills.
Food and drink wise the Alexander Hotel offers "old fashion pub grub" and is worth a stop in.
If you are looking for a place to stay you'll find everything from free camping, bed and breakfasts, self contained, right through to the luxury resorts of Seclusions and Eagles Nest.
