Some Pictures: Distance:
Around 8Km of trails, but you'll have to backtrack some. Summary: Killer climbs from Ku-ring-gai creek tempered by some nice firetrail and even a small section of single track. Some sealed roads to take joining it up though. Meeting Point:
There's a large shoulder on Mona Vale Road (eastbound). A site setup for RBT near the single track start makes a good spot. Show on Google Maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions. KMZ (Google Earth) Link:

Details: A bit of a mish-mash this one. The management firetrails are nice, as is the single track by Mona Vale road, but none of the trails here are really long enough to make a flowing ride, and it's broken up by the sealed road around the Wildflower Garden itself. That said, if you don't want something too long then why not? A couple of these trails are part of the Harbour to Hawkesbury Walking Track, and there are other walking trails around here (notably Mueller Track). Sadly the Mueller Track is not only closed to bikes, but it would also seem impassable at the Eastern end (lots of steep steps) so don't bother with this. Also watch out to the West, there's some steep stuff here, especially the climb up to Phillip Road - although that is very do-able, mostly thanks to a small sealed section to give much needed traction. Of course any/all of this could make a nice addition to a lap of Cascades - which is just the other side of Mona Vale Road. |

Wildflower Garden
As at 28 Sept 08 the council have re-installed the gate on the St Ives showground side exit from the Wildflower Gardens. Makes this ride a bit problematic. There used to be a very rough "track" around the downhill end of the fence (very close to a cliff edge)which allowed difficult portage, but it looks pretty overgrown.
