The Garden Trail is an 11km cross-country (XC) circuit which is 95% single trail and comprised of three loops which become progressively more difficult. The loops can be ridden independently or combined for the full 11km.

Trail Overview.
The trail at Australian Botanic Gardens, known as the Garden Trail provides a range of trails suitable for novice riders and families, and right through to more challenging elements for the more experienced rider.

First section of trail reopened in December 2019, second section in June 2020 with the third section to open in late 2020. All restoration has been completed by volunteers from the Wollondilly Macarthur Mountain Bike Club.

The trails are -

Family Loop: Rating - Green / Easy. Length - 4km.
Ideally suited for new riders and families. Relatively gentle climbs, progressive descents, wide and smooth trail with limited obstacles. Within the Family Loop is a 1km Kid’s Loop perfect for young riders or those wishing to sample an off-road trail for the first time.
More experienced riders will find the Family Loop contains many small features which, when ridden quickly, provide fun and challenging opportunities.

Intermediate Trail: Rating – Blue / Moderate. Length – 3km.
More challenging with additional climbing, faster sections, small obstacles and small jumps. Short roller-coaster flow section and log rolls. All trail features can be by-passed or rolled over with care.

Advanced Trail: Rating – Blue / Difficult. Length – 4km.
Steeper climbs, steeper descents, faster speeds, rock drops, berms, jumps, increased number of obstacles but flow is maintained. All trail features can be rolled over with care.
Note: Although some maps show this trail as Black this is rated a Blue / Difficult trail.

Access:
By car via M5 Motorway: Exit M5 at Narellan Road exit towards Camden. Australian Botanic Garden entrance is 1km from M5 on left. Follow signs to the trailhead at P6.
By train from Macarthur station. Head towards cycleway alongside Narellan Rd – ride 3.9km to Australian Botanic Garden entrance.
