New Jockeys
Ah... the Rush is no longer a ninja! It's star jockey wheels have been replaced. Boooooo!
Interestingly the top one is far less worn than the bottom. Will keep that as a spare.

New Cleats & Larsen
It doesn't seem like long ago at all that I was writing about new sole protectors... in fact that's only 3 months ago and the new set put on then is now worn through.
So I began to think that this speed of wear may well have something to do with the cleats getting very worn and thus letting the pedals get closer to the shoe and wear the sole more. Well, maybe.
Either way, today the Dorothy shoes got some new cleats and a new set of sole protectors. Let's see how they go.
For reference, here's some pics of old 'v' new cleats:

To the lake
After a great Gong ride Liz and I are going for this one today - from home to Lake George and back.

canberra mtnbike - recommended
The organiser / hosts made it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
The transport was safe / the hosts took shifts with rest stops.
The food was clean / abundant / great / I really liked it.
The accommodation was clean / appropriate.
The trails were awesome!

First Flat
Well, it had to happen sooner or later... on this morning's jaunt over to Manly and back[1] the crosser got it's first flat... ever. A very, very slow one at that, but eventually I felt the rear was a bit wobbly and looked down to see the deflation.
Had to stop on Manly beach front and change the tube. Yeah, tough place for it to happen Stopped off at Manly Cycles to top of the inflation with their floor pump. The dude there commented on my jersey (JetBlack Sydney 24 - see, it always helps to wear MTB event jerseys when <cough>scumming</cough>).
Consulting Garmin Connect, says I've ridden 6700km on the Bianchi. Hmmm... no wonder the tires look a bit worn (yup - same set of Conti Contact touring tires on there the whole time). Guess this is not a bad record in the flat department

You've gotta love the Scott.
Wow, what a race! I found the track exciting the whole time and the change to the night lap and back added more interest.
The fast downhill sections had the adenaline pumping so hard I never felt sleepy or struggled to stay focused for over 25 hours, with the size of the rocks that line track you know they are going to hurt if you make a mistake. Lucky I didn't!
This is the 1st time I've ridden the Pivot at Stromlo and it ate all the technical parts of the track with ease and I find I can ride it fast while staying relaxed so it was perfect, I never touched my spare bike the whole race.

Better than expected:)
Pretty pleased with the result and the whole experience. We took it seriously enough, still not forgetting to enjoy (almost:) every lap. Big CONGRATULATIONS to Iam for the fastest lap on the team + finishing 5 laps altogether with his broken wrist and fancy orange plaster!

Damn good ride
Fantastic way to spend a couple of hours early on a Saturday morning.
Thanks to Wayne, Chris and Andy for showing me around - I can definitely see why people rave about this as a playground. I learned some good stuff, had a great time and found a new area for me.
I'll definitely be back there again.

Hmmmm lets do that again :)
On finishing the Angry Doctor feeling fresh and ready to keep riding I felt ready for the Scott 24hr race. The Angry Doctor also signalled how fast the race was approaching and began the panic of getting everything organised, luckily almost everything turned up. Big thanks to Gavin, Vanina and City Bike Depot for organising a spare bike for me.
