Ok so i finally got photos of our Whistler trip posted! (found under http://nobmob.com/image/tid/2782 ). Paul and I had planned a trip to the US and Canada (4 week holiday - 5 days in NY then picked up a car in LA and drove up the West Coast with a detour to Donneville (Near Lake Tahoe) to ride (and test ride a SC Blur, Nomad and Ibis Mojo) then back into Oregon, drive through Washington and into Canada, thru Montana, Idaho, Utah, and back into Calif) and as luck would have it Delicious had also planned a trip to Whistler around the same time.

Scott 24hr=Fun track !!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The team Imported did not have much luck this year but we had a great deal of fun and the track was just amazing when there was no many people on it! I have to say that the two courses system (red and blue) last year was a better idea to reduce the congestion than the one course system. I hope that they are not going to keep the one course system for next year .... I am a bit concerned about the number of people that will be on the track next year as if I understood properly they will run Scott 24hr and world solo at the same time.... I guess we will see!

We had a great race but suffered from 2 slashed tyres. Steve01 on the second lap, and myself (Whisperer) on my first night lap.

Pasta Rob

For an event I wasn't looking forward to that much this one turned out to be a real goodie... as is so often the way.

The forecast was for cold weather and after last year's hypothermic experience this didn't bode well, the team had had more changes than a Kylie concert, less planning skills than the NSW state government, and I had to drive alone due to no suitable travel companions. Then driving through the M5 tunnel realised I'd forgotten my tarp, table and chair - oops!

Next Time

I only did one lap but I feel like I raced all night after my first lap tumble oh well maybe next time I will get in more than one lap before smacking the ground.

Thanks Gav & V you guys took it pretty well.

John thanks for the wrist strap / support thingy I quite possibly may not of been able to finish the lap with out it.

Xrays came up clear no breaks no dislocations so will be back on the road bike on Thursday night and the mountain bike in a few weeks.

My 1 lap - 01:17:44

This will be short, sleep is iminent.

I'll just outline the bullet points.

I was part of a great team of riders from South Sydney who I hadn't met before.
We had 6 flat tyres and one blown shock (incluiding my UST larsen.
Without the flats we would have come first in cat (oh well).
As it was we missed third by 1:30 minutes...

Ace stuff
The event was really well organised.
The track was awesome. Hair raising fast desents with nice (yes really) climbing to pay for it. Lots of crazy air to be had and a fantastic track for the Yeti.

Fox Bush

The Rush got a a new bush in it's shock (RP23) today. That gizmo Stan at BA made is pretty cool for changing these. Nice one!
