Sydney Retailer 5.10 Shoes

Hi Guys,

Am new to MTB and switching to platforms after some near misses on the clipless.

Having read a few reviews, I think I want to buy a pair of 5.10 MTB shoes.

Anyone know a Sydney store that stocks them? Would rather try them on for fit, rather than online.

Thanks, Damien

Glenrock trail

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Just wondering how much rain glenrock recieved over the weekend and now quickly it dries out. Given tomorrow, Monday is 22 degrees and sunny, thought I would ride there in the afternoon but not if I was going to cause damage.

Let's say that again - Please respect areas our trails pass by!

Don't be an ass - stay off Engravings Track

A while back we posted a gentle reminder to please respect for the environment our trails pass through.

Sadly the message doesn't seem to be getting through. Take a look at this sign snapped by Hawkeye (and his rather more strongly worded post).

Nothing more to say!

Lost Garmin

Lost my Garmin Edge 810 on the St Ives Single Track on Sunday 13/9 at 5pm. Have found the bracket ties but someone has picked up the device. Have posted signs in the vicinity which i will remove after 1 week. Thanks all.

Signs taken down this afternoon. Still not returned.

Don't be an ass - stay off Engravings Track

The sign says it all. If we keep riding the Engravings Track at Bantry Bay we ain't gonna get any more.

Don't be an ass. Stay the hell away and enjoy the other tracks they spent $800k building *just for us* - Gahnia and Serrata.

But if that's how you roll, remember to smile for the camera.

Because when the approval gets revoked and the trail pulled out because you just can't help yourself, you're gonna have tens of thousands of angry mountain bikers coming for you to get an "explanation".

Trail Direction

Hi Mobbers,

Just a quick question in regarding what is the correct direction for riding the Trail around the St.Ives/Mona Vale Rd areas.
Is it best if one parks on the Dirt clearing opposite Bunnings area, then ride towards St.Ives Showground, or Park at the Showground and head back to Bunnings, its probably been answered before, just thought if anyone else has wondered about it.

Cheers

Eurofest - Bantry Bay

Eurofest is on at Ararat Reserve this weekend.see http://www.eurofest.org.au/
Good: Stop for a German sausage and beer
Bad: Restricted parking along Bantry Bay Road and increased traffic and limited parking in the area

Awesome service

Just saying...
I ordered some specific parts from pushys online store, the sort of stuff bike shops don't carry as they are quite random (such as a ladies helmet in xxs, in a certain colour with certain features, a certain brand of chain lube and drive train cleaner..). I ordered it yesterday mid morning.

Low and behold! Today at 8:11am it was delivered to my front door!! That's a 22 hour turn around!! And it was free delivery!

Made my day.

Cannondale OPI Steerer recall

OPI steerers are - according to this notice - required to be replaced by your dealer.

http://m.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/item...

Although the fine print talks about fitment of a reinforcement part and new clamp bolts.

Greenvalleys MTB park

Rocky Trail Entertainment brought us round 2 of the state DH series this weekend at Greenvalleys MTB park. Mondraker was there racing and we got do do some filming with Matt Staggs.

If you can get down for the East cost titles at the end of October, the track is really fun. Check out this video off some of the trails that you can ride

URGENT someone with a spare bike in SYDNEY!!

Ok so its not that urgent, but I'm looking for someone with a spare bike to hand who would like to show a pommy around the Sydney trails. I've moved here from england and couldn't bring my bike, which I'm gutted about because I already miss it. I'm mostly an xc rider, quite experienced so I can take on fairly difficult stuff. Im 22 and reasonably fit, so im up for long rides. But I'm happy to go at any pace, I just want a ride! Let me know if you can help.

Cheers, lewis

DIY Carbon Repair Pt. 2

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Snapped a pull shock a while back. Found a 2nd hand one but it's started to leak oil and is now waiting for parts from Europe and it will take time. So I thought I have a go at fixing the old one by building it up with carbon fibre.

8 Layers of carbon to build up the A-frame that snapped and one layer around the main cylinder to anchor it and then poor mans vacum bagging i.e freezer bag and duct tape.

ANT+ USB for PC and HRM question

Howdy,

For those that connect sensors to a Windows PC using ANT+, what dongle/adapter do you use and what sensors do you use it with? Outside on the bike I am sorted with a Galaxy S5 as a defacto bike computer, but indoors I'd like to take advantage of my large laptop and connect directly to it for video-based training sessions.

Mistress A- line closed for works?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi all,

I rode The Mistress on Tuesday and the A-line was blocked with a wheel barrow. Just wondering if there's work on the a-line and it is closed or if it was left there / moved there by mistake?

Great work on the trail by the way.... I'm still trying to figure out the flow on that top section.... Particularly that small drop; the gap in the rock beforehand has me concerned that I'm not going to be able to keep the front wheel up and will do a massive OTB at speed. How are others hitting this? Slow and roll or speed and huck?

Single Track Training

Just wondering if any NobMobbers have a particular view on where is best to do some training on single track in advance of the Kowalski Classic?

I had been thinking OMV and Wylde primarily, but wondered if there was any other area people thought was good value and appropriate for the trails of the Kow.

Any advice?

Vote for more MTB Trails!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Do you want to see more MTB trails in NSW? Then please show your support by voting for the Wylde MTB Trail in the Premier's Peoples Choice Landscape Awards at:

http://news.domain.com.au/polls/domain/2015-prem...

If Wylde wins, then we have demonstrated a popular demand fro MTB trails. We just can't let a seawall at Cronulla beat a MTB trail!

Even if you have never ridden Wylde, or don't even live in Sydney or NSW, your vote(s) will all help the cause of gaining more MTB trails.
